Cologne v Hertha Tipp & Quoten, 16.01.2021 – 15:30
FC Köln and Hertha BSC will play on Saturday afternoon, 16.01.2021 at 3:30 pm, in the Rhein-Energie-Stadion for three important points on the 16th match day of the Bundesliga. The Domstädter received a historical gossip at SC Freiburg last weekend. The club celebrated its highest home win in the Bundesliga. The FC slipped through the bankruptcy to the relegation spot (11 points) and is more than ever in acute danger of relegation. Last Sunday, the Old Lady did not score any points at Arminia Bielefeld and ranked 12th with 16 points.

The team of Markus Gisdol and the host from Freiburg met at eye level in the first minutes. The FC wanted to stand safely in the back and the sports club took more and more control of the pitch with continuous playing time. Consequently, the Breisgauers went through Demirovic with 1:0 in the front (18th). The Rhinelanders scored only one goal in the first round (33rd, Wolf). On the opposite side, the lead inspired the SCF, which even before the break increased by Höfler to 2:0 (39th). In the second 45 minutes more had to come from the goats, but except for two shots from Wolf (56th, 57th) the FC did nothing. At the latest with Sallai’s 3-0 in the 59th minute, the game was decided, but far from over. The Badeners really had fun now and Cologne fell apart into its individual parts – Lienhart headed it 4:0 (69.). In the final phase Höler scored the final score of 5:0 (79th). After that, Freiburg could have completed half a dozen, but Höler only hit the post (86.). A gossip for Cologne that was also earned in height.
The Gisdol Elf conceded the third defeat from the last four games and did not score a goal during this period. At home, the Domstädter have not won a single game this season (two draws, six bankruptcies) and have lost the last two home appearances against Leverkusen and Augsburg. This makes FC the worst home team in the Bundesliga and scored the most goals at home (18). Even in the offensive, it still doesn’t work (13 goals). Only Schalke 04 and Arminia Bielefeld scored even less.
Sebastian Andersson and Florian Kainz will be out on the weekend due to injury.

The capital club got into the game better with increasing playing time on the alpine pasture and had two decent degrees by Cordoba (7., 10.). Overall, it remained extremely quiet in front of both goals. The East Westphalia had no problems keeping the unimaginable Berliners away from their own housing. But also the ascender brought nothing worth mentioning to the front of the chain. Bruno Labbadia’s team didn’t really get any better in the second period either. The first chance for the promoter was the best of the game. After a crash by Alderete, Cordova came to the ball and hit only the outer net (48.). The Old Lady has now made too many mistakes in the build-up game. Thus the home owners came through Klos and Doan (54th, 56th) to two chances to lead. Shortly afterwards the Arminia did not go undeserved by Yabo with 1:0 in the front (64th). Six minutes later, Doan slid the ball to the inside post (70th) and missed 2-0. Hertha remained surprisingly harmless despite the delay – Piatek scored by hand, was rightly whistled back (84th) and then shot from the second row in the replay time – Ortega parried (92nd).
The Labbadia team lost two of the last three Bundesliga games and won only their home game against Schalke 04 during this period. Since four away games, the capital club has been unsuccessful (two draws, two bankruptcies) and has lost the last two guest matches Freiburg and Bielefeld. The biggest drawback with the Hertha this season is the defensive with 25 goals conceded after 15 days of play. Only the three clubs in the last three places defend even worse.
Eduard Löwen, Marton Dardai, Javairo Dilrosun, Dedryck Boyata, Mathew Leckie and Matheus Cunha are injured in the cathedral city.

For FC Köln and Hertha BSC this duel on the Rhine is an enormously important one. The FC wants to leave the relegation spot again and at the same time increase the lead over the direct relegation places. The Alte Dame will have to face a relegation battle in the event of a bankruptcy in the Rhein-Energie-Stadion, or the capitals will manage to keep the lead to the mid-table with a threesome at the Geißbocken. The last few weeks, however, do not give much hope. The last two away games were lost to the Berliners, but the Domstädter are the weakest home team in the league and scored the most goals in their own four walls. We expect a close and goal-rich duel in the Rhineland. In the end, the Labbadia elf prevails. So our choice for this Bundesliga tip forecast also falls on the 3-way bets Hertha BSC wins, where betting odds are on average around 2.20.
