Tottenham paid around £10 million (approximately €11 million) to buy out his contract with Brentford, which still had two years to run. The official appointment of Thomas Frank was partly delayed due to a dispute over the composition of the team, particularly the inclusion of assistant Justin Cochrane.
Brentford were keen to keep Cochrane, but he is now expected to follow Frank to Spurs and return to the club where he worked as a youth coach. Chris Haslam, sporting director, and Joe Newton, analyst, will also leave Brentford for the London club.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Thomas Frank as our new Head Coach on a contract that runs until 2028.
Welcome, Thomas! 🤍

Frank took charge of Brentford in October 2018 and led the club to the Premier League via the 2021 play-offs. He helped the Bees establish themselves in the top flight, where they remained for four seasons despite a relatively modest budget. Brentford finished last season in 10th place.
Tottenham’s disastrous season, with 22 defeats, prompted chairman Daniel Levy to sack Ange Postecoglou despite his Europa League triumph. Postecoglou led Spurs to their first title in 17 years, beating Manchester United in the final in Bilbao, but was sacked just 16 days later.
