There has been contact with Milan, and an offer may arrive in the next few days. So could the Rossoneri sell a striker they bought in the summer? It’s not impossible, but Christo’s willingness and his valuation are two major issues.

Half of Istanbul is talking about Christopher Nkunku, and no, it was not expected. At the end of December, Christo became a target for Fenerbahçe under the influence of Domenico Tedesco, who now coaches the yellow and blues in Turkey but for six months in 2021-22, he had Nkunku scoring for Leipzig: 20 goals in the Bundesliga, 35 in the season. But can Milan really let Nkunku go less than five months after buying him for €37 million plus bonuses?

The first certainty: Fenerbahçe has never made an offer to Milan. It has inquired, is considering it, and is likely to make a proposal in the coming days. At the moment, however, there are no negotiations, and the reality is that the purchase price is an issue. Fener does not want to pay €35 million for Nkunku and will probably try to close a favorable deal, focusing on his difficulties in settling in Italy.

Milan’s point of view—  Milan is not closing the door to dialogue but cannot make a capital loss by selling Nkunku for 20-25 million, especially after his two goals against Verona. At the moment, however, the attack is in a delicate balance. Leao played in Cagliari despite inflammation in his quadriceps, closely related to pubalgia, Pulisic had only a few minutes of playing time on Friday, and Gimenez will be out for a long time. It’s good that Füllkrug has arrived and impressed in his first 20 minutes, but Allegri has limited options up front and a transfer would certainly not be taken lightly. Milan, let’s say, is in a waiting position, with no rush. Nkunku’s point of view— Nkunku’s willingness is important in this scenario. Christo is not pushing to leave Milan. On the contrary, he would gladly stay in Milan, wanting to prove himself. A few months to settle in is understandable, and Allegri, by choosing him to take the penalty against Verona, has shown that he is willing to help Nkunku. So, should Fenerbahçe be kept an eye on next week? Of course. Are all the conditions in place for the deal to go through? No, not at the moment.
