Gladbach no longer put more than desperate shots on the chain. The Hütter-Elf tried hard, but lost the game in the end (90th +1) despite Hofmann’s goal.
The Fischer-Elf is still undefeated this season and had two good opponents at the Alte Försterei, Leverkusen (1:1) and Gladbach (2:1). With FC Augsburg, the supposedly lighter opponent comes to the capital. Now comes the big but: the Berliners have been undefeated for 18 home games across all seasons. The last defeat in front of their own fans took place on the first day of the previous season – against the FCA (1:3).
Union Berlin does not have to complain about injuries or suspended players and can accept the South Germans in the best position.

The Bavarian Swabians have never been able to win in the Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen and so the game started from an FCA perspective. An avoidable but deserved home defeat for Augsburg.
The Weinzierl-Elf was able to score a point in the last away game with Eintracht Frankfurt (0-0), but in the two home games this season against TSG Hoffenheim (0-4) and Bayer Leverkusen (1-4) there were two high-profile defeats. The last six guest appearances of last season were lost in a row. After all, the null number in Frankfurt stopped the series of defeats in the foreign country. The Fuggerstädter have the most harmless attack of the league with only a single goal of the season and are also not quite close at the back (8 goals conceded). Only promoted Greuther Fürth and Hertha BSC defended even worse.
