The Shevchenko-Elf won the first defeat against the Dutch after six consecutive unbeaten international matches. In the World Cup qualification this year, there was a 1:1 result in all three matches. World Champion France even scored a point in Paris. Also in the three friendship games 2021 there were two wins and a draw. Ukraine also conceded its sixth defeat in its seventh European Championship game.
Viktor Tsygankov (Dynamo Kiev) is likely to remain injured due to calf problems.

In the European Championships debut against Austria, the North Macedonians relied on exactly the same team that beat the German national team sensationally 2-1 in March. Captain and forward Pandev was the pivotal point in the game of North Macedonia.
