Turkey vs. Azerbaijan Tips & Quotas, 27.05.2021 – 19:00 Uhr
On Thursday evening, 27.05.2021 at 7 pm, the Turkish national football team will test their European Championship form in the friendly match against Azerbaijan in the stadium of Basaksehir FK in Istanbul. At the European Championships next month, the Turks will open THE EURO 2021 against Italy. Other group opponents are Wales and Switzerland. The Milli (The National) was still at an EM or World Cup and will probably act as a sparring partner in this international game.

The Bosphorus team has already played three World Cup qualifying matches this year and is still unbeaten in Group G. After a strong 4-2 opening win against Holland at home, a clear 3-0 victory followed in Norway. The last qualifying match against Latvia in its own four walls in March was a pure disappointment. At first everything went according to plan with the early 2-0 lead after the goals of Karaman (2nd) and Hakan Calhanoglu (33rd). Even the Latvians’ 35th minute goal didn’t throw the Senol Günes national team off track. Shortly after the break Burak Yilmaz scored 3-1 and restored the old distance (52nd). The badass outsider came through the goals of Roberts Uldrikis (58th) and Davis Ikaunieks (79th) but still to the 3-3 equalizer, which was also the final score.
For the fifth time, the Günes Elf will participate in an EM final round at THE EURO 2021. The Turks achieved the best result in 2008 in Austria and Switzerland with their entry into the semi-finals. There, however, Germany was defeated 2-3.
The Turkish team is led by former Bundesliga players Hakan Calhanoglu (AC Milan) and Caglar Söyüncü (Leicester City). National coach Günes called 30 players into the national squad, who started preparing for the European Championship at the training camp in Antalya on 18 May. There are also forward Kenan Karaman (Fortuna Düsseldorf), Ozan Kabak (FC Liverpool) and Kaan Ayhan (Sassuolo Calcio), who all played in the German Bundesliga. Until the start of the European Championships, the squad must be reduced to 26 players. This will send four players back home after the training camp.

The national team led by Italian practice leader Giovanni De Biasi played two World Cup qualifying games this year and had to suffer two defeats at European Champion Portugal (0:1) and in their home game against Serbia (1:2). After the early lead after just over a quarter of an hour for the guests through Mitrovic (16th), the Millis were able to score the 1-1 equaliser in the second half by Emin Makhmudov (59th). In the final phase, however, the favourite scored a 2-1 victory goal through the double pack of Mitrovic (81st).
The De Biasi elf has never been to a major football event. The European Championships and World Cup tournaments were only watched in front of the TV. Even in the controversial UEFA Nations League it was only enough to win in League C in the 1-0 victory in Cyprus. In this way, the relegation to the D-League was prevented. There were even two defeats against Luxembourg at home (1-2) and Montenegro (0-2). The last three NL matches against Cyprus and Montenegro at home and in Luxembourg all ended 0-0 without goals.
With a cadre value of EUR 16.1 million, it is also not competitive in Europe. Just three players with a market value of 1 million euros are the most valuable – central defender Badavi Hüseynow, midfielder Qara Qarayev and midfielder Mahir Emreli, all playing for Qarabag FK in the Azerbaijani first division. As captain, Maksim Medvedev leads the national team to the field. The defender has been playing for Qarabag continuously since 2009.
Mahir Emereli, Anatoliy Nuriev and goalkeeper Shahrudin Mahammadaliyev are injured for the friendship kick in Turkey.
Recent matches from Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan: 0 victories – 2 draws – 3 defeats
2 victories Turkey – 1 draw – 1 victory Azerbaijan
The Turkish national team is against Azerbaijan’s all-time favourite for victory. The team from the Bosphorus started strong in the World Cup qualification with two victories against Holland and Norway. In the last international match against Latvia there was again a disappointment (3:3). The Milli has lost both preludes to the World Cup qualifying against Portugal and Serbia and will most likely pick up the third bankruptcy this year in Basaksehir. De Biasi-Elf has a lower second-class level and is not really competitive in Europe, nor has it ever participated in a European Championship or World Cup final round. Anything but a goal-rich home win for the Turks would be a surprise.
Accordingly, we recommend for this international prediction tip also the 3-way bets on Turkey wins.
