The Granata coach is satisfied after the victory in Rome and qualification for the Coppa Italia quarterfinals: “We are growing.”
After three seasons, Torino is back in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals (they will face Inter away in a single match), and Marco Baroni does not hide his satisfaction at Roma’s elimination at the Olimpico. “The team is growing. We also had an important second half in Bergamo,” said the Granata coach on Italia 1. “I’m happy for the boys, the fans, and the club, but more than just advancing to the next round, I was especially interested in how we did it. The team did very well in all aspects, from aggression to verticality. It’s just a shame about the two lapses in concentration.” The Torino coach does not want to set limits or objectives. “I strongly believe in values, growth, and hard work. The path is clear: I asked the director and the president for players who wrote ‘future’ on their shirts,” added Baroni. “This is what I try to bring to the field: hard work, sacrifice, and improvement.”

The Granata coach finally moves on to analyzing the season. “I think it’s not easy when you change: we started out thinking we would play with a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, but we had to change because of the characteristics of the players,” he admits. “I know that here they want everything right away, but when you have to try to improve young players… I’m also disappointed about some of the setbacks, but they’re part of the growth process. Our goal for the season? To constantly improve, to renew the challenges every day on the pitch. The secret lies solely on the pitch; we need to focus on our daily work and growth. That’s all the team, the club, and I are thinking about.”
