Slovenia vs. Croatia Tips & Quotas, 24.03.2021 – 20:45 – World Cup Qualification Europe
The national teams of Slovenia and Croatia will start on Wednesday evening, 24.03.2021 at 20:45 in the World Cup qualification at the stadium SRC Stozice in Ljubljana. The Zmajceki can look back on a strong football year 2020 and even celebrated promotion in the Nations League. The Kockasti, on the other hand, was not in a good mood last year and just prevented relegation from the A-League. The World Cup qualifying group H is completed by Malta, Russia, Slovakia and Cyprus.

The Slovenians remained unbeaten last year and celebrated promotion to the B-League in the NL. Matjaz Kek’s team proved particularly strong in defence and conceded only one goal in the six group games. Only against Greece could the Zmajceki not win (twice 0-0). There was a 1-0 home victory against Moldova and a clear away victory (4-0). In Kosovo (1:0) and at home (2:1) there were also six points.
After the successful last season in the Nations League, Slovenia’s third World Cup participation after 2002 and 2010 is now set to work. In the final round 11 years ago in South Africa everything was over after the group phase. They didn’t sell so badly with four points – Algeria (1:0), USA (2:2), England (0:1).
The upcoming European Championship in summer will take place without Slovenia. So far, they have only managed to compete in the European Championships and participated in the tournament in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2000. Here, too, there was nothing to pick up and the Zmajceki retired as a group last.
Goalkeeper Jab Oblak (Atletico Madrid) is the star in the Slovenian national squad and accounts for over half of the overall squad value. Offensive player Josip Ilicic (Atalanta Bergamo) is also one of the few stars in the team. True football connoisseurs will also know Jaka Bijol from Hannover 96, who is based in the defensive midfield.

(Status: 22.03.2021)
The national team of Zlatko Dalic played in the Nations League in group A3 and only prevented the relegation to the B-League due to the better goalscoring ratio compared to Sweden. The direct comparison could not decide, as both national teams were able to win their home game 2-1 each. This was also the only victory of the vice world champion in the NL. Comparisons with France and Portugal were also lost. In Portugal (1:4) and France (2:4) there were even four goals. Only in last year’s two friendly matches did the Croats remain unbeaten – 2:1 victory in Switzerland and a 3:3 victory in Turkey.
The 2018 World Cup in Russia could have given Croatia the first title in association history. In the final, however, the Dalic-Elf defeated France (2-4) and missed the title. After three victories during the group’s hatred, the Kockasti always had to go into overtime from the eighteenth finals, made two penalty shootouts against Denmark and Russia before scoring the 2-1 victory goal in the semi-finals in overtime against England.
The EURO this year should at least go back to the knockout phase. In Group D Croatia meets England, the Czech Republic and Scotland. At least the latter two teams should be able to be left behind. At the last European Championships in France in 2016, Portugal finished in the quarter-finals against the later winner (0-1 A.D.).
Ante Rebic has hip problems and is unlikely to be available for the qualifying games in March. However, national coach Dalic can rely on stars such as Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea London), Nikola Vlasic (ZSKA Moscow) and Luka Modric (Real Madrid). Josip Brekalo (Wolfsburg) and Andrej Kramaric (Hoffenheim) are from the Bundesliga.

Croatia is a clear favourite in the World Cup qualifying game in Slovenia. However, the vice world champion should tackle the task with the necessary seriousness, otherwise the next surprise threatens against strong Slovenians. The Kockasti presented themselves last year in the Nations League with only one victory and five bankruptcies in no good shape. The Zmajceki, on the other hand, won four out of six group games and celebrated promotion to the B-League. Although the Dalic elf is better positioned in terms of quality, it will have to go to the borders in Ljubljana to get the three points. We predict that Slovenia will hold the zero for a long time and score at least one point against World Cup second. Associated with this, we favor the Under 2.5 Goals bets for this tip forecast. The sports betting tip wins if there are no more than 2 goals in the total in the game. For this purpose, betting providers provide betting odds of around 1.60 + on average.
