Will the Andalusians bounce back with a home win?
At the start of the matchday, RCD Mallorca were in seventh place with 34 points and could therefore still hope to qualify for a European competition. Sevilla FC, on the other hand, are only in the bottom half of the table, but are only three points behind the Pirates with 31 points. If the Nervionenses win at home to Sevilla against Mallorca, the Andalusians could, in principle, make a comeback in the battle for Europe.
In principle, the struggling Sevilla FC have made a good start to the new year. The Rojiblancos have only lost one of their six La Liga games in 2025 (two wins, three draws) – a 4-1 defeat at home to league leaders Barcelona, from which the Andalusians recovered impressively last weekend with a 4-0 win away to Real Valladolid. Now, however, Sevilla’s prediction of another high-scoring game against Mallorca does not bode well.
Both teams basically know how to defend well. They already neutralized each other in the first leg, when the match at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix resulted in a goalless draw. A result that should definitely be taken into consideration now and find its way onto the betting slip. The momentum favors the Andalusians, as RCD Mallorca started the year 2025 with five defeats before the Pirates scored twice in a row (one win, one draw).
Sevilla – Statistics & current form
As record winners of the UEFA Europa League, Sevilla FC have been a constant guest in European competitions over the past two decades. However, the Andalusians only finished eleventh and 13th in the last two seasons.
Even under coach Xavier García Pimienta, who was appointed last summer, it does not look like a comeback in Europe. With eight defeats from 19 games, they also only finished the first half of the season in 13th place.
Sevilla with a solid start to 2025
After a pale first half of the season, Nervionenses have at least made a good start to the second half. The Andalusians have only lost one of their six La Liga games in the 2025 calendar year (two wins, three draws), reducing the gap to the seventh-placed visitors from the Balearic Islands to three points.
If the Rojiblancos win at home to Sevilla against Mallorca, Pimienta’s side could make a big leap forward and at least move back into the top half of the table.
Sevilla scored too few goals at home
The Nervionenses must, however, improve above all in front of a home crowd. At the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, they scored in eight of their twelve home games in 2024/25 (five wins, three draws). However, only eleven goals were scored at home. Only Real Valladolid (seven), Getafe (nine) and Alavés (ten) have bettered that in the league.
However, because the Andalusians are much more compact defensively under Xavier García Pimienta, they have not conceded too many goals. A goal festival on Monday evening would therefore come as a surprise.
Predicted Sevilla line-up:
Mallorca – statistics & current form
Real Club Deportivo Mallorca finished 15th in the final table last summer, keeping their place in Spain’s top flight. Under new coach Jagoba Arrasate, the Pirates have no worries about relegation in the 2024/25 season.
Instead, the Bermellones go into the 25th matchday of La Liga in seventh place in the table and can hope to return to European competition for the first time since the 2003/04 season. Back then, they reached the round of 16 in the UEFA Cup.
Has Mallorca survived their slump in form?
The Balearic side had to go through a slump at the start of the year. The Mallorcans lost all of their first five competitive games in 2025 – including an embarrassing 3-0 defeat in the Copa del Rey at lower-ranked underdogs Pontevedra.
In the meantime, however, the low seems to have passed. The Pirates have recently scored twice in a row (one win and one draw), although they also conceded a goal in both of these games. This means that the Bermellones have not kept a clean sheet in any of their seven competitive games in 2025.
Mallorca with a poor record against Sevilla
Jagoba Arrasate must therefore continue to tighten their defensive screws ahead of their visit to the Andalusian capital if they are to build on their recent 3-1 win over Las Palmas. However, the bookmakers do not think the Pirates have much chance of winning the away game.
At Bet365, odds of 4.00 are available on Sevilla v Mallorca for bet 2. The Mallorcans have only won one of their last nine competitive games against the Nervionenses (three draws, five defeats). Meanwhile, new customers can also get up to €100 in betting credits with the current Bet365 bonus.
Mallorca’s expected line-up:
Sevilla – Mallorca Head-to-head / H2H record
Head to head: 28 – 22 – 15
A total of 65 meetings have taken place between the two teams so far and Sevilla FC lead the direct comparison with 28 wins. The Andalusians also won their last home game against RCD Mallorca 2-1 and have only lost one of their last nine competitive games against the Pirates (five wins, three draws). Meanwhile, the first leg ended 0-0.
Sevilla – Mallorca betting tip
In principle, the odds of the betting providers with PayPal for Sevilla vs Mallorca are in favor of the home side. However, the odds of 2.12, which are available in the Betano app for bet 1, only suggest a probability of 47.2 percent for the Nervionenses to win at home. Certain residual doubts therefore remain, especially since both teams already neutralized each other in the first leg (0:0).
It is therefore important to cover the possibility of another point split in the Sevilla vs Mallorca prediction. Because results like 0:0 or 1:1 are not unlikely here, we opt for the combined bet on the double chance 1X with under 3.5 goals.
