Sandhausen v Hamburg Tip & Quoten, 22.04.2021 – 20:30
Both teams are dependent on winning in the current situation. The final sprint of the 2nd Bundesliga has begun and both teams can currently not be sure of achieving their season goals. For Hamburg, this is, of course, the ascent. But the other teams have submitted. Even if the HSV wins on Thursday, it could not pass Bochum and Fürth. On the other hand, SV Sandhausen is in the relegation battle and urgently needs points there. The advantage for Sandhausen at the moment is that it still has some catch-up games. A single point would be enough to at least climb to the relegation site. Not surprisingly, Hamburg is favoured by betting providers with a German licence. HSV has clearly won the first leg at home. At 20:30 (CET) the game starts at BWT Stadium am Hardtwald.

Sandhausen has three more games to catch up with and one of them will take place on Thursday evening against the Hamburg SV. That’s not enough, because the other two games have to be played in Fürth and Kiel. If the relegation battle should not be difficult enough, the regular schedule also includes the games against Heidenheim and Bochum. Sandhausen is therefore not given anything at these last metres, but at this point the team still has the ability to prevent the relegation itself. A single point on Thursday might be enough to stand in front of Osnabrück at the end of the season.
Sandhausen played the last game at the beginning of April. That was a 1-0 win against the Würzburg Kickers. In any case, they have always sold well in the last home games. Of the seven home games this year, only one was lost, which was a 2-3 draw against Karlsruhe. Otherwise, there was a 3-0 victory against Osnabrück and a goalless draw against Düsseldorf. Sandhausen scores six wins, four draws, four defeats and 21:18 goals in his own stadium.
Players Ivan Paurevic, Robin Scheu, Patrick Schmidt, Stefanos Kapino, Rick Wulle and Denis Linsmayer will be absent for the match against HSV.

You are familiar with the promotion battle in Hamburg, as you have always participated in the last two seasons. But in spite of good chances, it was not enough in the end. Now it looks like it could get really tight again. The catch-up match is an opportunity for Hamburg to collect important points, but even three points in Sandhausen would not take the HSV to the first two places. Both Bochum and Fürth have more than three points ahead of Hamburg before this match. In this respect, it would also be fatal for the HSV if there were no victory. Heidenheim, Kiel and Düsseldorf are also not far away.
Just two wins in the last nine games. This is simply too little again to really be able to be at the top of the list. The victories were in March against Bochum and Heidenheim, but then followed by a 3-3 draw against Hannover 96 and a 1-2 defeat in their own stadium against Darmstadt. Away this season Hamburg has so far scored six wins, five draws and three defeats at 27:22 goals.
At least it looks like Daniel Thioune could bet on the whole squad.
Recent matches from Hamburg
Hamburg: Wins: 2 | Draw: 2 | Defeats: 1
Sandhausen Siege: 1 | Draw: 1 | Hamburg Siege: 3
Hamburg and Sandhausen will face each other for the sixth time this Thursday. Three wins have gone to Hamburg so far. The last two games were scored, both took place in Hamburg. The second leg of last season saw Sandhausen win 5-1 away, and the first leg of the current season went 4-0 to HSV. The latter is also favoured and is of course the stronger team. But the last few weeks were simply not convincing. This is true for Sandhausen as a whole for this season, but at home they have usually made it very difficult for the opponents in recent weeks and months. Hence the tip for draw between Sandhausen and Hamburg.
