The “Sbornaja” received Malta on the last World Cup qualifying day. In front of the local backdrop, the Russians were set as clear favourites tip and thus distinguished themselves by a rather lower victory rate. The home team made a strong start and only needed ten minutes to get in front through Fedor Smolov. Even after the lead, the visitors were the better team and looked for the goal finish. There should be no further hits until the break. Even in the second half, the Russians had more game time and more moves to the goal. The guests also played out occasional goal room scenes. The culmination was a penalty converted by Bakaev in the 84th minute. At the same time, this led to the 2:0 final score.
Only one defeat had to be accepted in the course of the previous qualification. This one bankruptcy came about after a narrow 1:2 in Slovakia. Seven points were scored from the last three encounters. For this reason, two victories and a draw can be won. With 13 points taken, the “Sbornaja” ranks second in the standings, but is equal to the leader from Croatia. The gap on the third place in the table from Slovakia is four points. The offensive looks at ten goals scored and the defence were given four goals conceded. With three goals, Artem Dzyuba is the best attacker in his own ranks.
The odds clearly indicate that the Russians will qualify for the final round of the World Cup in Qatar. However, the group victory only leads over Croatia.
The Russians have participated in a World Cup final four times so far. The quarter-final at the 2018 World Cup was the measure of things against a domestic backdrop. In this game, the team had to concede defeat to Croatia.

The Slovaks had the home right on their side on the last matchday and had to prove their skills against Cyprus. A clear field superiority of the hosts emerged at an early stage. At times, they had more than 64 percent possession of the ball and were clearly in control of the situation. In the beginning they were too hesitant in the finals. As a result, the team went into the half-time break with a goalless draw. After the side change, only ten minutes were played when Ivan Schranz was able to play for the Slovaks for the first time. The guests found no way to radiate real danger. Unlike the home team, Martin Koscelnik added 2-0 to the score in the 77th minute. Throughout the match, Cyprus failed to make a single shot at the opponent’s box. Thus the Slovakian goalkeeper Marek Rodak had a very quiet day.
The last trio scored was only the second in the entire competition. The first experience of success came on the third qualifying day in front of a local backdrop after a narrow 2:1 draw against Russia. On the other side are three draws and one defeat. Nine points currently lead to third place in the league table. However, the quotas make it clear that the Slovaks are more likely to act as underdogs for the group victory. Milan Skriniar is the best attacker in his own ranks with two goals.
So far, the Slovaks have only qualified for the World Cup once. This was the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. At that time, the team caused a big surprise and even celebrated a 3-2 victory over Italy in the preliminary round. In the last sixteen, however, it was the end of the game after a narrow 1-2 draw against Holland.

So far, the Russians have played well in qualifying against the domestic backdrop and have scored seven points in three home games. Against the Slovaks, three more are to be added and thus the bankruptcy from the first leg is to be forgotten. Slovakia is still waiting for the first triple away. So far, two draws have been booked. On the basis of the odds, the Russians can be identified as a favorite tip. In the course of our betting tip forecast, it can be assumed that Russia will do justice to this role.
