Clear number or tight box?
Real Madrid have already played 20 competitive games in the 2022/23 season. The Blancos have lost just two of those 20 games (15 wins, three draws).
Both defeats, however, have come in the last four competitive games, which is definitely an indicator that the royals are currently paying a high price for the high intensity of the many English weeks.
Most recently, the Merengues lost 3-2 at Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Monday.
However, the visitors from Andalusia bring a good record with them. The Pirates have lost only one of their last eight league games (two wins, five draws). In addition, Cadiz have only lost one of their last four league games against Real Madrid (one win, two draws), which is why the forecast for Real Madrid against Cadiz is not so clear-cut.
After all, the Andalusians are not yet lacking freshness with only 13 competitive games in the 2022/23 season. Accordingly, we trust the visitors to keep the game open for a long time with a good defensive performance. A lot of value is therefore provided by the under bets. More than three goals were scored in only three of the last 16 meetings between the two teams. In three of the last four games, it was even less than 2.5 goals, which is a good option for bettors who are a little more willing to take risks.
Real Madrid – Statistics & current form
In the summer of 2021, Carlo Ancelotti once again took over as Real Madrid coach. The 63-year-old was able to get the Blancos back on track in his first year. Not only did the royals win the Spanish championship again at the end of the season after a one-year break – their 35th title.
They also won the Champions League for the 14th time in their club’s history. Expectations are correspondingly high in the second year in office of the second Ancelotti era at the Merengues.
Unbeaten in first 16 competitive games of 2022/23 season
At first, Real Madrid lived up to those expectations. The season started with the UEFA Super Cup triumph. The white ballet remained unbeaten for a total of 16 games before suffering their first defeat in the Champions League on matchday five, a 3-2 loss at RB Leipzig.
This defeat, which ended a run of 20 consecutive games without defeat, was not overrated, if only because the Madrilenians could still win the group on their own merits. The Blancos also convincingly clinched first place with a 5-1 win over Celtic Glasgow.
Five points behind Barcelona
Lately, however, they also suffered their first defeat in La Liga as Ancelotti’s eleven were beaten 3-2 by Rayo Vallecano on Monday night. That put a damper on the Merengues’ two-legged championship battle with Barcelona.
Even with a home win against Cadiz, which is highly probable for Real Madrid against Cadiz according to the bookmakers’ odds, the Madrilenians could only reduce the gap to Barca to two points. It would be all the more important to do just that and not go into the World Cup group stage with an even bigger gap.

Cadiz – Statistics & current form
Cadiz Club de Fútbol were still playing in the third division seven years ago before the small club from Andalusia made a return to La Liga in the summer of 2020. The yellow submarine (Spanish: “El Submarino Amarillo”) was unable to hold its own in the 2005/06 season.
This time, however, the Pirates managed to stay in the league in their first year, finishing twelfth in the final table, before finishing 17th in the final spurt of last season with eight out of a possible 15 points from the last five league games. Among other things, a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid on the penultimate matchday was instrumental in saving Cadiz.
Eleven points from a possible 24 from the last eight games
Then it came to the new season, however, the Andalusians’ luck seemed to have run out. Cadiz lost the first five league games of the 2022/23 season all together with 0:14 goals and thus had the red lantern in their hands. Nevertheless, those responsible initially held on to coach Sergio, who then actually managed to turn things around.
In the last eight league games, the Pirates have only lost one other game (two wins, five draws), even beating Atlético Madrid 3-2 in their last home game. The Yellow Submarine have also kept a clean sheet in four of their last eight league matches.
Only lost one of their last four competitive matches against Real Madrid
The Andalusians have now reached eleven points and are only below the line because of their worse goal difference. If Real Madrid’s bet on the Pirates to win a point against Cadiz pans out, the underdogs could even follow the Winter World Cup in a non-relegation spot.
Last season, the yellow submarine already stumbled twice against the Spanish record champions, holding the Blancos to a draw in both the first and second legs. In total, Cadiz have lost only one of their last four meetings with the Blancos (one win, two draws).
Predicted line-up of Cadiz:
Ledesma – Zaldua – Hernández – Chust – Espino – San Emeterio – Alejo – Alcarón – Blanco – Ocampo – Lozano

05/11/2022 – Getafe 0 – 0 Cadiz
29/10/2022 – Cadiz 3 – 2 Atletico Madrid
22/10/2022 – Rayo Vallecano 5 – 1 Cadiz
19/10/2022 – Cadiz 0 – 0 Real Betis
15/10/2022 – Girona 1 – 1 Cadiz
Real Madrid – Cadiz Direct comparison / H2H balance
Head to head: 23 – 6 – 4
There have been a total of 33 meetings between the two teams so far and Real Madrid lead the direct comparison with 23 wins. However, the Andalusians have kept up well with the Royals of late, losing only one of their last four league games against the Blancos and remaining unbeaten and scoreless in their last two visits to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Madrid – Cadiz Tip
When it comes to Real Madrid against Cadiz, the prediction basically goes in the direction of the home side, who have won 15 of their 20 competitive matches in the 2022/23 season (three draws, two defeats). However, it should not be forgotten that the Blancos have lost two of their last four competitive games, while the Pirates have just one defeat in their last eight matches.
The Andalusians have improved noticeably defensively of late. In view of the fact that Cadiz have not conceded a goal in their last two games at the Santiago Bernabéu, another close encounter with few goals is not unrealistic.
