How bitter will it be for the Andalusian underdogs?
Real Madrid take on Cadiz in an unequal clash: the home side go into the encounter top of the table and boast an impressive run of ten wins in La Liga and the Champions League. They have also not lost a competitive match since the beginning of October (12-1-0).
The visitors, on the other hand, arrive in third last place in the table and have lost three of their last four league games. An upswing cannot be detected in coach Alvaro Cervera’s team on the basis of these results. Instead, a nail-biter is looming on the horizon for the players from the Mediterranean in their bid to stay in the Spanish top flight.
For the clash between Real Madrid and Cadiz, the forecast includes a home win with at least a two-goal difference.
Real Madrid – Statistics & current form
The Madrilenians have settled perfectly at the top of the table in Spain: Shortly before the end of the first half of the season, the gap to second-placed Sevilla is already eight points, although their closest rivals have played one game less. Nevertheless, Real have dominated La Liga so far and only lost to Espanyol Barcelona.
Instead, they have won 13 of the other 16 league games. The guarantor for the success is the always reliable attack: It strikes more than twice per league game on average and with 39 goals has the best yield in the league-wide comparison.
Do the home side score more than twice?
With this in mind, odds on Real Madrid and Cadiz to score more than twice are also interesting, given the particularly easy task for the league leaders. Likewise, bets on a goal by Karim Benzema are also worth considering.
The Frenchman leads the scoring charts with 13 goals, ahead of his strike partner Vinicius Junior. He scored again last weekend in the “Derbi madrileño” against Atletico.
The goal came despite the fact that he only played for one half of the match, as Benzema had been injured and seemed to be more affected by the injury than expected in the run-up to the prestigious derby. However, he should now return to action against Cadiz.
Predicted Real Madrid line-up:
Courtois – Alaba – Mendy – Militao – Carvajal – Vazquez – Cesemiro – Kroos – Benzema – Vinicius Junior – Jovic

Cadiz – Statistics & current form
The Andalusians have already been waiting for four matchdays for the next three points, but there have only been two of those in the course of the season anyway. Getafe are the only team to have achieved this meagre haul of successes, and only Levante, who are still completely winless, can beat them.
The Yellow and Blue have a defensive problem first and foremost: Only the aforementioned bottom team Levante concedes more goals than last year’s twelfth-placed team in a league-wide comparison. It is also not very helpful for the upcoming match in Madrid that the number of goals conceded is even higher in the away matches than on home ground.
On average, the “Pirates” concede more than two goals per game away from home. Once again, this poor record is only surpassed by UD at the bottom of the table.
Cadiz can’t compensate for their absences
One reason for the visitors’ very mediocre season so far is their personnel situation: With Jose Mari and Jon Ander, two experienced midfielders have been out since the start of the season. The squad, which is already limited in terms of play, is obviously unable to compensate for this loss of quality.
To make matters worse, Iza Carcelen is now missing a regular in defence due to injury and veteran Salvi Sanchez will have to miss out in midfield on top due to a yellow card in the recent 1-1 draw against Granada.
Predicted line-up of Cadiz:
Ledesma – Fali – Cala – Espino – Akapo – Alarcon – Alejo – Jonsson – Fernandez – Arzamendia – Lozano

Real Madrid – Cadiz Direct Comparison / H2H Balance
The “Submarino Amarillo” conceded a clear 0:3 home defeat against Real Madrid in the last direct duel last April. This continued a streak of away victories in this pairing. The Madrid win was already the third success of the respective visiting team.
However, Cadiz’s win at the Bernabeu in October 2020, which was included in this, was again the underdog’s only success in the back 32 (1-0-4).
Real Madrid – Cadiz Tip
The home side are unstoppable in league action at the moment: They also won last weekend’s city derby against the Colchoneros 2-0 and claimed their seventh league win in a row. For the match between Real Madrid and Cadiz, the forecast includes a home win with at least a two-goal difference.
In addition to the currently very strong form of the hosts, the prediction is underpinned by the again fragile condition of the guests. In third last place in the table, Cadiz have had a very weak season so far.
Furthermore, there are no signs of improvement, as the reasons for this are, among others, personnel-related and the absence of important players will not change for the time being.
Although some players like Gareth Bale or Luka Modric are also absent due to positive tests, the noble squad should compensate for this shortcoming.
The forecast is also supported by the fact that the hosts still have a score to settle with the Andalusians, as they suffered a surprising defeat against the visitors in their last home match. For this reason, Ancelotti’s team will also not lack the necessary motivation for a clear victory.
