Does Eintracht pay tribute to the EL exertions?
The Euro Eintracht has struck again! In a nerve-wracking round of 16 second leg in the Europa League, the Hessians had to go to extra time after a last-minute goal against, but there, also in the last second, they were able to secure their place in the last eight thanks to Martin Hinteregger. Nevertheless, the encounter late on Thursday evening naturally cost an immense amount of energy. Strength that could be missing on Sunday in the league match at RB Leipzig…
Because the Saxons were not in European action during the week, as is well known, and yet have already secured their ticket to the EL quarterfinals, they will be much more rested and presumably also more prepared going into the encounter against the Eagle Bearers. It is therefore not surprising that far lower odds are offered on the home win between RB Leipzig and Frankfurt.
By the way, an interesting statistic also speaks in favor of this, because Eintracht has not been able to win any of the six guest games at the Red Bull Arena. Worse still, the SGE has never been in the lead away from home at the reigning runners-up. In view of the circumstances outlined above, which we will discuss in more detail in the following analysis, there is not much to suggest that a prediction on the visitors in the RB Leipzig vs. Frankfurt clash on Sunday afternoon will come true.
RB Leipzig – statistics & current form
Obviously, the German-Italian can currently score with his on the one hand very analytical or factual nature. On the other hand, however, it also seems to fit very well in the interpersonal area between coach and team. There is no other way to explain the excellent record under the new man at the helm at RB Leipzig.
Tedesco has been in charge of the central city club for 16 games. Eleven wins, three draws and only two defeats underscore the remarkable output since the beginning of December. Especially after the winter break, the Saxons have regained their status as the absolute top team in the Bundesliga. No other team recorded more points than RBL in 2022. 22 of a possible 27 points were scored in nine matches.
Does Leipzig continue its impressive winning streak?
The red bulls, who have now climbed to fourth position, also have the strongest offense and most stable defense in the second half of the season. They scored at least one of their own goals in all nine games. In seven cases, they even scored two or more goals.
Due to the enormous self-confidence, which was given an additional boost last weekend by the 6:1 victory in Fürth (after trailing 0:1), it can therefore make sense to bet on excess goals between RB Leipzig and Frankfurt. In the five away games since the turn of the year, more than four goals were scored on average. A bet on the over 2.5 is therefore worth considering.
A special reunion is on the weekend for Andre Silva, who in the preseason still 28 goals for Eintracht marked and thus also the club-internal ancient record of Bernd Hölzenbein could crack. The Portuguese now has 50 goals in the German top flight, all of which were scored in the penalty area. The only question mark is behind Klostermann. Otherwise, Coach Tedesco hardly has to make any changes to his team.

Frankfurt – Statistics & current form
It was again one of those legendary evenings of Frankfurt Eintracht in the Europa League. First, for a long time everything seemed as if the Hessians could manage with a draw after 90 minutes to advance, then Betis Sevilla hit the Adlerträgern shortly before the end right in the core. With morale, passion and irrepressible will, the SGE rose above itself once again in extra time and was rewarded with a standard goal from Martin Hinteregger in the 119th minute.
As Emil Forsberg says, such an emotional success can of course release forces. However, we think it is more likely that Frankfurt may fall into a small motivational and mental hole. On the one hand, because the last three competitive games, including the away trip to Seville, have taken a lot of energy and substance. On the other hand, they have a long way to go in the Bundesliga to reach the European Cup places. Seven points are currently missing on the sixth-placed team.
Will RBL remain a red rag for Glasner?
Hope for this is the good away record in the current season. 21 points after 13 away matches is the historic third-best haul in the Bundesliga at this point in a season. The team has already won six matches away from home, exactly the same number as at the end of the previous season. In addition, the 2.5 goal mark has been broken in four of the most recent six matches in opposing stadiums. Only in two of the aforementioned 13 away games did Eintracht remain without a goal of its own.
To conclude between RB Leipzig and Frankfurt the betting odds on the home win back into focus, it is enough to look at Oliver Glasner’s statistics against the upcoming opponent. In fact, the Austrian did not win any of his seven competitive games as coach against the Leipzigers. Against no other club does the soccer coach have such a poor record. On Sunday, Glasner will definitely have to do without his stabilizer Djibril Sow, who is missing due to suspension. Other absences are possible, but will probably only be communicated at short notice.

RB Leipzig – Frankfurt Direct comparison / H2H balance
Eleven Bundesliga matches have been played between RB Leipzig and Frankfurt so far. A prediction on the draw would have paid off in six of them. This compares to three defeats from the Hessians’ point of view and just two victories.
In the Saxon capital, the SGE is still waiting for its first win in five attempts. In general, the away team has never been able to win in the twelve competitive matches. The first leg ended 1-1, incidentally the third consecutive 1-1 draw in this pairing.
RB Leipzig – Frankfurt tip
RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt have built a very good reputation in German soccer in recent years. Both clubs stand for an offensive orientation and were once in a while also among the last clubs to represent the flags of the Federal Republic on the international stage. Incidentally, this is also the case in the current season. RBL and the SGE are in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
On Sunday afternoon, however, everyday life is on the agenda. In the Bundesliga, it comes to the aforementioned duel RB Leipzig against Frankfurt, where the odds swing quite clearly in the direction of the home side. This clear distribution of the quotes is probably due to the intense EL match of the eagle bearers on Thursday, which has undoubtedly cost strength. Physically as well as mentally.
Furthermore, Tedesco’s eleven has been playing a near-perfect 2022 Bundesliga campaign so far, registering 22 points out of a possible 27, scoring the most goals and conceding the fewest. In addition, they are still without defeat in five home games against the SGE.
