The trial of a person close to seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher began today in Nyon, Switzerland. The man, an Australian driver who never made it to F1 and a friend of Mick, Michael’s son, has been accused of sexual assault by a nurse for events dating back to the night of November 23, 2019, which took place at the Schumacher family residence in Gland, on Lake Geneva in Switzerland.
According to the court documents, the woman was working as part of the Schumacher family’s medical team at the time and had been caring for Michael after his serious skiing accident in Meribel, France, on December 29, 2013. The rape allegedly took place in a bedroom on the upper floor of the main house. According to the documentation, that evening the man and two of the young woman’s colleagues were playing pool at the Schumacher estate when she joined the game. After drinking cocktails and vodka, the nurse felt ill and was taken to bed. The defendant then allegedly returned to the room and raped the heavily intoxicated woman twice.
