Does QPR’s slump continue?
After a stellar start to the season, Queens Park Rangers have squandered any momentum in recent weeks and meanwhile find themselves in a crisis of form. The Rangers have suffered three defeats in a row in the last three Championship fixtures. As a result, the team around head coach Mark Warburton slipped down to tenth place.
QPR now have a home game against Birmingham City this week. Birmingham, meanwhile, are level on points with Rangers in twelfth place. Just like their upcoming opponents, the “Blues” from Birmingham have not won any of their last three games in the Championship.
As the odds comparison of the betting base shows, the guests are classified as underdogs. Surprising all the same, because in the last six competitive games against QPR, the “Blues” have lost only once
The last time the two clubs met, Birmingham City beat Rangers 2-1 at their own stadium. Now, if the London club can record a second successive win over Rangers for the first time since October 2008, QPR vs Birmingham odds of 3.75 will pay out on the visitors.
QPR – Statistics & current form
Just a few weeks ago, QPR were among the narrow circle of promotion candidates after their impressive start to the season. In the meantime, however, there has been a relapse into old times for Rangers. Since the fifth matchday, the club from West London has not won a single match in the Championship.
Last week, they even suffered their third league defeat in a row in an away match against West Bromwich. It is therefore all the more important to show an act of defiance during the week and thus initiate a turnaround. Just how much potential there is in QPR’s squad was shown, among other things, by their last appearance in the EFL Cup.
After all, head coach Warburton’s team was able to beat Everton in the round of the last 32 and thus eliminated a club from the English top flight from the League Cup. Meanwhile, QPR – at least statistically – cannot be described as a home-strong team.
Will QPR lose again in their own stadium?
So far, Rangers have played four home games in the Championship. The London club only managed a home win against Coventry. Most recently, QPR suffered a surprising defeat against Bristol City. Although Rangers were clearly superior in terms of play, the visitors were more effective in attacking play and claimed the last-minute victory.
It is quite possible that the next setback beckons against the upcoming opponents. After all, QPR have not won a single home game against Birmingham since April 2018 In the last three home games against the “Blues” there was one defeat and two draws for QPR. Last year, the two clubs played out a goalless draw at the Queens Park Rangers stadium.
With the home side’s back line struggling of late, we’re tending to rule out a goalless match for QPR vs Birmingham this time around. Mark Warburton will only have to do without Sam Field for the home match against the visitors from Birmingham due to injury.
Predicted line-up of QPR:
Dieng – Kakay, Dickie, Dunne – Odubajo, Ball, Dozzell, Barbet – Chair, Gray, Dykes

Birmingham – Statistics & current form
Just like their upcoming opponents, Birmingham City meanwhile cannot find a way out of their form crisis. At least the series of bankruptcies could be ended in the last week, at least there was a point at home against Preston after a goalless draw. Before that, the “Blues” failed against Fulham (1:4) and Peterborough (0:3).
The defeat against Peterborough was particularly serious. Throughout the match, Birmingham were unable to make an impact in their attacking play. Against the league’s top scorers – Peterborough conceded a total of 20 goals in nine matchdays – Birmingham surprisingly failed to score.
Against QPR, the offensive knot should be broken. Head coach Lee Bowyer has all the key players at his disposal – at least in the attack. Only Gary Gardner still has to serve his red suspension.
Blues with a promising away record
Bowyer & Co. start the trip to London with a broad chest. The last defeat at QPR’s stadium was almost three years ago. Since then, Birmingham City have scored in three away games in a row against the Londoners.
Considering how strong QPR have been away from home so far – apart from the away defeat against Peterborough – it is obvious that the “Blues” will get at least a point at Rangers again this season. This season, Birmingham have already won away games against Sheffield United and Luton The “Blues” scored a total of six goals in the process.

QPR – Birmingham Direct comparison / H2H balance
For the 64th time, Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City will meet. So far, the supposed underdogs from Birmingham lead the head-to-head comparison against the Londoners with a record of 24-17-22. The two clubs have met a total of six times since April 2018. Birmingham won two of the six matches, while three games ended in a draw and QPR won only one match.
Last season, Birmingham City remained unbeaten against QPR in the first and second legs. In London there was a goalless draw. The second leg in Birmingham, on the other hand, was won 2-1 by the “Blues”.
QPR – Birmingham Tip
QPR cannot afford any more lapses in the Championship after four winless games in a row. After all, Rangers have already slipped to tenth place following their recent run of defeats. The gap to the promotion play-off places is already four points, so it is all the more important to win the upcoming home game.
The guests from Birmingham are not at all convenient for the Londoners. The “Blues” have not lost a competitive match against QPR for almost two years. In addition, Birmingham have not lost a single match against Rangers in their last three away games.
Tentatively, we expect a match of equals with the two teams likely to share the points. For QPR vs. Birmingham our betting odds are on a draw We are betting a total of four out of ten possible units on this one.
