Derby in Manchester and basement duel in Leicester

After the international break, matchday 9 is upon us in the Premier League. Tips and odds for all matches can be read in the following overview! The main focus is on London.

Two top teams, Arsenal and Tottenham, face each other in a particularly exciting derby! A city duel takes place in Manchester at the same time, when City receive their nemesis United.

Last season, the Citizens won both duels and are now hoping for a third derby win in a row. Furthermore, there will be a showdown at the bottom of the table.

The last from Leicester meets the second last from Nottingham. The “Foxes” are the only team in the league still without a win. There should be no shortage of goals in the match as the weakest and third-worst defence face each other at the King Power Stadium.

Arsenal v Tottenham – 01 October, 13:30

The “Gunners” suffered a defeat at Manchester United for the first time on the penultimate matchday. Previously, all five league games were won and the performance in the defeat at Old Trafford was stable despite the result.

Recently, the home side got back on track with a clear away win in the derby against Brentford and defended their lead in the table. The “Lilywhites”, for their part, recently scored a 6:2 victory against Leicester.

The match was a redemption for Son Heung-min in particular. Last season’s top scorer had not yet scored in the current edition of the British top flight, but the knot burst against City.

The South Korean scored three goals against the “Foxes”! Thanks to this success, the visitors are the only team in the country’s top division apart from Manchester City that has not yet lost a match!

For the clash in London in the Premier League on matchday 9, the tip includes goals on both sides. The two teams’ offences have been reliable so far, but the visitors’ defence has been waiting for a clean sheet for three rounds of matches.

The hosts have also consistently recorded wins in their three home games, but always not by nil.

Bournemouth v Brentford – 01 October, 16:00

AFC recorded a respectable 1-1 draw at Newcastle in their last league game before the international break. Thanks to the draw, the previous upward trend was confirmed: The home side have not lost for three rounds and have picked up five of their eight points this season.

The Bees, on the other hand, have not won away from home in three attempts so far (0-2-1). However, they have scored at least once each time and their offence is generally strong on the road.

Only the top three teams at the top of the table have scored more goals, and only on the last matchday in the 3-0 defeat against the league leaders Arsenal did coach Thomas Frank’s team fail to score.

Therefore, betting on the visitors to score more than one goal in the matchday 9 clash at Bournemouth in the Premier League seems to be profitable.

The prediction is backed up by the home side’s shaky defence, with only bottom-of-the-table Leicester conceding more goals!

Fulham vs. Newcastle – 01 October, 16:00

Fulham are clearly the best promoted team so far compared to Nottingham and Bournemouth. This verdict was confirmed once again last matchday, as the Londoners won 3-2 at Forest.

With eleven points from the first seven league games, the “Cottagers” can be unquestionably satisfied with their start to the season. The only two defeats came against top teams, Tottenham and Arsenal.

The upcoming opponents also seem to be slowly growing into this category. However, the “Magpies” have been waiting for another win since the first matchday and a victory against Nottingham.

On the other hand, only one of the following six league games was lost. On top of that, it was an unfortunate defeat against Liverpool, as the decisive goal in the 1:2 defeat was scored very late in injury time.

Only one win and one defeat quickly make it clear that the visitors are draw specialists. Five of their seven league games have ended in a draw – the highest number in the division!

For United’s visit to Fulham in the Premier League on Matchday 9, betting tips on another draw are worth a recommendation.

Liverpool v Brighton – 01 October, 16:00

The “Reds” haven’t played a league game for just under a month, having been hit by match cancellations twice. For the home side, however, the interruption may have been an advantage, as things had not been going well for the runners-up before.

Coach Jürgen Klopp’s team only managed two wins in the first six rounds of matches. The visitors, too, have not competed in the league for about a month.

However, they made a successful start to the season with four wins, one draw and one defeat. Now, however, they will have to do without their coach Graham Potter.

The coach moved to Chelsea, where he succeeded the surprisingly fired Thomas Tuchel. It is to be expected that this loss will weaken Albion, because Brighton’s success was also based on his work on the touchline.

Only around a third of the games under his stewardship have been lost since he took charge in May 2019 (42-46-47) and Potter also took five of his coaching staff with him to Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, for his Italian successor Roberto de Zerbi, it is his first coaching job in English football. For the clash in Liverpool in the Premier League on matchday 9, bets on a home win with at least a two-goal difference are therefore recommended.

This is also supported by the fact that the home side will be very motivated as they finally want to move up in the table.

Southampton vs. Everton – 01 October, 16:00

The “Saints” clearly declined in recent weeks: three of the last four league games were lost from the home side’s point of view.

Especially the offense has room for improvement with an average of one goal per game and has been particularly weak recently with three clean sheets for the opponents in the past four rounds of games.

However, the Toffees, who are level on points, have even more problems going forward: Frank Lampard’s team scored only five goals.

Now, however, they travel with renewed self-confidence: After four draws and two defeats, they recently beat West Ham to record their first win of the season!

Admittedly, the Londoners are currently in a veritable crisis of form and only occupy third-last place in the table.

For the clash on the south coast in the Premier League on matchday 9, betting tips on less than three goals by the final whistle represent the first choice of the betting base.

The visitors’ games have been very low-scoring so far due to their weak attack, which is, however, paired with a reliable defence: thus, only 1.6 goals were scored on average in the seven completed league games – second-lowest.

Moreover, only one of these matches ended with more than 2.5 goals. West Ham alone also have only one league match with more than two goals as a result in a league-wide comparison.

Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea – 01 October, 16:00

The “Eagles” have not yet arrived in the new season: They only recorded one win against Aston Villa within the first six rounds of matches (1-3-2). One problem is the inefficient offensive.

Wilfried Zaha alone must be exempt from this criticism: The player from the Ivory Coast scored four of the seven goals of the home side!

At Chelsea, Graham Potter celebrates his league debut as coach in the London city duel. After the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel, the former Brighton manager is now in charge at Stamford Bridge.

The visitors also have room for improvement: Only half of the six league games they have played have been victorious, and the last two guest games ended in defeat.

This is not enough for the “Blues”, especially as their squad is unquestionably one of the best in the British top flight. In the derby at Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Matchday 9, the odds on a goal by Raheem Sterling can be placed at value according to our analysis.

The ex-Manchester City striker has scored in two of his last three league games and also contributed his side’s only goal in the 1-1 draw at Salzburg in their last competitive match in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old Briton is currently the CFC’s top goal-scorer, and there’s no questioning his fundamental quality as an enforcer: in the past five seasons, Sterling has consistently delivered a double-digit goal haul in the British top flight!

West Ham v Wolverhampton – 01 October, 18:30

The Hammers most recently suffered a 1-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park. Once again disappointed offensive of the home side. Together with their upcoming opponents, they have the worst record with only three goals.

The Wolves also suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Manchester champions. Moreover, they lost a defender in the match with new signing Nathan Collins from Burnley due to a red card for a rough foul.

As described, the match pits the two weakest attacking lines against each other. As the respective defenses of the two opponents are much more stable, the games of the Londoners and “Wolves” are usually low-scoring.

Only two of the seven games of the visitors ended with more than 2.5 goals and the average value of 1.4 goals per match is the lowest in the league!

However, the hosts’ games also average just 1.7 goals and only one of their seven league games saw a result of more than two goals – joint lowest with Everton.

For the clash in London in the Premier League on matchday 9, bets on a maximum of two goals by the final whistle in the capital thus seem promising.

Manchester City vs. Manchester United – 02 October, 15:00

The champions recently recorded a commanding 3-0 win over Wolverhampton. On this occasion, Erling Haaland broke the next record.

With his goal, he extended his series of games away from home with at least one goal to four – no player has ever started better in the Premier League in his guest appearances!

In addition, the Norwegian has already scored eleven goals for the Skyblues after six appearances.
the Skyblues – the clear top scorer. With Kevin de Bruyne, City coach Guardiola also has the best provider of assists in the league (6) at his disposal.

United, however, also arrive in stable form. The last four rounds of matches have all been victorious, and the team has since managed to make up for its poor start to the season.

The last matchday was proof of their form when they beat Arsenal, who had previously won all five of their league games, 3-1. The match also saw Ajax newcomer Antony make a fine debut with a goal for the record champions.

In the clash in Manchester in the Premier League within the 9th round of matches, predictions on a home victory, including an interval lead for the home side, are nevertheless advisable.

City are once again in a league of their own at the moment and Haaland is unlikely to be denied at least one goal in his derby debut.

Leeds v Aston Villa – 02 October, 17:30

Leeds will be banking on home advantage in the upcoming match: So far United have recorded wins against Wolverhampton as well as Chelsea and a draw against Everton.

However, with none of the three away matches won (0-1-2), the interim record of eight points is only average.

Villa made a comeback last matchday with a win over Southampton, ending a drought of three defeats and a draw.

Coach Steven Gerrard is now sitting a little more firmly in his chair after the win, but it remains to be seen whether it is a sustained upturn. For the clash in Leeds in the Premier League on matchday 9, tips on a home win (DNB) seem promising.

The prediction is supported not only by the aforementioned home strength of the Marsch team, but also by the away weakness of the Birmingham team.

They have lost all three of their matches away from home, although most of them were against weak opponents like Bournemouth or Crystal Palace. Moreover, the home side have a very good attacking player in Luis Sinisterra.

The Colombian arrived from Feyenoord before the season and has scored consistently in his three appearances in the starting eleven! The 23-year-old also proved his strong form during the international break, scoring again in his side’s 4-1 win over Guatemala.

Leicester v Nottingham – 03 October, 21:00

Leicester can’t get to grips with their defensive problems, most recently suffering a 6-2 defeat to Tottenham. The half-dozen other goals conceded mean that the home side now have the weakest defensive line in the Premier League.

In addition, it was the sixth defeat in the seventh league game and the home side are the only team in the Premier League without a win. Unsurprisingly, the hosts only occupy last place in the table with this disastrous result.

On the last matchday, the promoted team once again demonstrated its extremely weak defence. Within six minutes they let Fulham score three goals in the second half of the promotion battle.

This gave away a previous lead and in the end these minutes of collective defensive failure were also responsible for the 3-2 defeat at home to the Cottagers.

The problems in the defence of the hosts are not new: Only the upcoming opponents and Bournemouth concede more goals than the “Tricky Trees”.

For the match, given the two weak defences in the Premier League on matchday 9, predictions on a goal celebration on both sides are worth considering.
