Chelsea want to secure the top flight
The penultimate matchday in the Premier League promises a high level of excitement in many quarters. As the seasonal home straight approaches, the focus is on the clash between West Ham and Manchester City, among others.
The visitors, who are currently particularly strong offensively, are desperate to win this one so that they can remain at the top of the table. Liverpool, on the other hand, will be looking for a win in Southampton at the end of the season on the south coast.
In the relegation battle, the Toffees will be hoping for three points against Brentford and Leeds will be hoping for an end to their run of defeats against Brighton.
Tottenham v Burnley – 15 May, 13:00
For the Lilywhites, a 1-0 first-leg defeat ended a previous run of five unbeaten games against the Clarets (4-1-0). However, the win for the Wine Reds was undeserved from an objective point of view as the Londoners had more of the game at Turf Moor.
Spurs are now banking on their own home advantage, having won eight of their past nine home games against Burnley (8-1-0). However, the Clarets will be very committed to the game.
As 17th in the table, they occupy the last non-relegation place. Furthermore, the visitors have a physical advantage, as the home side still played a catch-up game on Thursday.
Nevertheless, the forecast for the match in the Premier League on matchday 37 includes a home victory with at least a two-goal difference by the stronger hosts.
They cannot afford to slip up in the race for the Champions League places, which is why they will also be extremely motivated.
Aston Villa vs. Crystal Palace – 15 May, 15:00
The Villans scored a fortunate 2-1 away win in the first leg as their opponents fielded the better team but were less efficient than the Birmingham side in taking their scoring chances.
Villa are also unbeaten at home in four games (3-1-0) and the Eagles missed a goal of their own in each of those games! At the moment, however, they arrive in a thoroughly pleasing frame of mind.
The Londoners have recently recorded two victories, although these were only against in-form Watford and Southampton.
For next weekend’s matchday 37 clash between two similarly match-fit opponents and table neighbours at Villa Park in the Premier League, tips on a draw are of interest.
Watford v Leicester – 15 May, 15:00
Watford and Leicester have already faced each other once in the FA Cup this year. The match ended in a clear 4-1 victory for the Foxes, who scored four goals against the Vicarage Road side for the second time this season.
Most recently, Leicester also celebrated a clear victory in league action against Norwich. The relegated side were dispatched 3-0, with Jamie Vardy scoring his first brace of 2022.
With next weekend’s Premier League clash at Watford in the 37th matchday, bets on an away win are a good idea.
The hosts have already been relegated and have been extremely weak at home this season. They have picked up just eight points from their 18 home games so far – the worst figure in a league-wide comparison!
Leeds v Brighton – 15 May, 15:00
Leeds are not only waiting for their next win against the Seagulls (0-1-2), but also for their next goal. The visitors, on the other hand, recently celebrated a surprising victory against Manchester United.
The Red Devils were defeated 4-0, and the scale of the triumph was particularly unexpected. Normally, scoring goals is not one of Brighton’s core competencies.
However, an exception has to be made, because Leandro Trossard has been very accurate for some time now. The Belgian has scored in four of the last five league games!
For the match at Elland Road in the Premier League on matchday 37, predictions on his next goal celebration are therefore the first choice of the betting base.
Trossard should also get enough chances: The hosts are fielding the second-weakest defence in the British top flight. This is usually also very vulnerable at home. This can be seen in the average of two goals conceded per home game!
Furthermore, the nerves of the home side, who are in danger of relegation, are starting to fray. In the last two games, Leeds were always sent off before the break. Never before have there been three games of this kind for a club in the history of the division!
Wolverhampton v Norwich – 15 May, 15:00
Wolves and Norwich face each other for the second time in 2022. The first meeting was in the FA Cup last February and the ‘Canaries’ scored a surprise 1-0 away win at Wanderers.
However, the result did not reflect the course of the game as Wolverhampton were the dominant team. For the visiting promoted side, the season is already over.
As bottom of the table, City have to go back to the Championship. However, the hosts are not in good shape either: they have not won for five rounds of matches and have not lost only one of those games.
With the match at the Molineux Stadium in the Premier League on matchday 37, the tip is aiming for less than 2.5 goals.
In the match, the weakest attack on the side of the visitors and the fourth-worst in the case of the hosts face each other. Against this backdrop, there is no sign of a goal spectacle.
West Ham v Manchester City – 15 May, 15:00
The Hammers have been waiting for their next win in 15 meetings with the Citizens and have only failed to lose twice in this flashback. Furthermore, things have been more than bumpy in league play lately.
Although they did manage a win last weekend, it was nothing more than a compulsory task, as the three points came against the already relegated Norwich side.
Before that, the Londoners had to accept three defeats and a draw. In addition, they suffered two defeats at the hands of Eintracht from Frankfurt, which put paid to their dream of reaching the Europa League final.
The visitors, for their part, already played a catch-up match against Wolverhampton this week. The match against the Wanderers was won 5:1 and the match winner was Kevin de Bruyne.
The Belgian redhead scored four goals! With 15 goals already, KDB has his best record so far in a season in England and also in his career so far.
For the match at London’s Olympic Stadium in the Premier League on matchday 37, predictions on an away win with at least a two-goal difference are recommended.
Everton v Brentford – 15 May, 17:30
Coach Frank Lampard’s side scored a 4-1 win in their last head-to-head clash in the FA Cup. It was Lampard’s debut as the Toffees’ new coach. In the previous league match, Everton were again beaten 0:1 in London.
Now the hosts will be highly focused as the Mersey side remain in dire relegation trouble. This is even more true after the recent goalless draw against Watford last Wednesday against the already relegated Watford kickers.
After two wins against Leicester and Chelsea, the draw was of course a bitter disappointment from Everton’s point of view and represented a step backwards in terms of play.
For the visiting Londoners, on the other hand, the season is already over, as there are no more worries about the bottom of the table.
In what is sure to be a very evenly-matched clash next weekend in the Premier League on matchday 37, predictions of a draw look promising.
Newcastle v Arsenal – 16 May, 21:00
The Magpies have been waiting for their next win against the Gunners for eight attempts. From the home side’s point of view, the offensive output is really bitter: in the past seven encounters with the Londoners, not even one goal has been scored!
The home side’s last two league games were also lost without a goal of their own. However, the opposition with Liverpool and Manchester City was admittedly difficult to the maximum.
The visitors, for their part, are currently very strong. They have won all of their last four league games and the Londoners are keen to defend their current fourth place.
For the clash in Newcastle in the Premier League on matchday 37, tips on an away win are worth a recommendation. While Arsenal are still playing for important points, there is nothing left at stake for the hosts, which is why a noticeably more motivated visiting team can be expected.
Southampton v Liverpool – 17 May, 20:45
The kickers from the south coast have lost the last two duels in league play against the Reds by nil in each case. At the moment, too, there are signs of a defeat for the home side. Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl’s team has been out of form for several match days.
The recent three defeats and one draw are proof of this, a poor result, especially in view of the fact that they only played teams from the midfield or bottom of the table in this review.
With 40 points, the Saints are not yet completely saved themselves. For Liverpool, again, only a win in the match counts to keep their chance of the title alive.
The clash in Southampton in the Premier League within the 37th matchday also offers predictions of a success for the visitors with at least two goals difference.
Klopp’s side currently look much stronger than their opponents and, as described, will be very focused in view of their position in the table.
