Manchester City will be looking to defend their top spot at Burnley
The season is slowly but surely entering the home straight in the British top flight. As is well known, there is no lack of excitement in the championship race. The champions and current league leaders from Manchester are only one point ahead of the Reds.
In order to at least defend this gap, coach Pep Guardiola’s men now want to win at home against the Foxes from Leicester. The pursuers from the Mersey also play on their own ground. LFC will be up against the in-form Watford side – and if they win, the Reds will be celebrating their tenth successive treble!
Liverpool vs Watford – 02 April, 13:30
Coach Jürgen Klopp’s home eleven will be relying on the home bonus against the Hornets: The Reds are the only team in the British top flight not to have lost in front of their own crowd this season, instead winning 11 of their 14 home games.
As a rule, the Reds also set the course for a home win in the first half of the game: nine of the eleven home victories came with a lead at half time.
For the match at Anfield Road in the Premier League on matchday 31, tips on another home win with the hosts leading at the break are worth considering.
Brighton v Norwich – 02 April, 16:00
The “Seagulls” have taken a nosedive in the table recently: they have lost consistently for six rounds of matches, which is why they now only occupy 13th place in the table.
The most important reason for the downturn is the offensive, which has largely stopped working. Five of the six recent defeats gave the respective opponents a clean sheet as a topping.
With Norwich, however, the hosts now travel to a rival that is tailor-made for an end to this negative series. The “Canaries” are in last place in the table and have lost every game for seven rounds.
For the Premier League duel within the 31st matchday, predictions of less than three goals in the course of the match seem promising.
Both teams have very weak attacking lines: Norwich have the worst and the home side the third weakest attacking line in the league. On top of that, Brighton’s home games are generally low-scoring.
On average, two goals are scored in games on the south coast – together with Burnley, this is the lowest number in the home rankings of the British top division. Furthermore, the limit of 2.5 goals has only been exceeded in three of Hove’s 15 home games so far!
Burnley v Manchester City – 02 April, 16:00
The wine reds get a visit from the champions. The visitors couldn’t get past a goalless draw at Crystal Palace in league action recently, but continue to be the strongest away team in the division with 11 wins in 15 away games already (11-3-1).
During the international break, however, more or less the entire squad was called upon in their respective national teams, although at least the Brazilian faction from overseas with players such as Gabriel Jesus or Ederson had a game off.
However, Manchester are generally happy to travel to Burnley: City have not lost at the Clarets for more than seven years and have recorded five wins and a draw in that period.
The hosts are also not in good form at the moment, having lost all three rounds of matches, all of which have come without a goal of their own. The hosts’ goal deficit is not a new pattern either, as only the bottom team from Norwich scores less.
For the clash in the Premier League on matchday 31, betting tips on an away win to nil are therefore offered.
Chelsea vs. Brentford – 02 April, 16:00
The Blues and Bees face each other in the London derby. The hosts have been stable recently despite all the turmoil surrounding the club’s future, winning their last six games in the league, FA Cup and Champions League.
The visitors, however, have also stabilised recently: Two of the last three league games were won and the previous free fall in the table was stopped, at least for the time being, even if there was another defeat at Leicester.
For the encounter at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on matchday 31, betting tips on a home win to nil seem more promising.
The Tuchel team has conceded the fewest goals in the current season, second only to Manchester, and the defence has been particularly solid of late, conceding just one goal in the last five league games.
Leeds vs. Southampton – 02 April, 16:00
Two contrasting trends meet in Leeds v Southampton. United have recent wins over Norwich and Wolverhampton, while the Saints arrive on a run of three defeats.
However, coach Jesse Marsch, who has been in charge at Leeds for four rounds of matches, has only been able to stabilise the weakest defence in the league to some extent.
No clean sheet has been recorded in any of the four games under his stewardship and seven goals conceded within that flashback indicate that this section of the team still has room for improvement.
For the clash at Leeds in the Premier League on matchday 31, value can be located in the betting odds on both sides scoring.
Wolverhampton v Aston Villa – April 02, 16:00
Wolves last conceded a painful defeat against Leeds. After a 2-0 lead, the match against the Whites was still lost 3-2 on their own ground. In addition, Raul Jimenez received a yellow card, which means that the Mexican will have to miss out in attack.
Aston Villa, the immediate neighbours at the bottom of the table, are looking in. However, there are already ten points between the teams, although Gerrard’s eleven has also played one game less. Moreover, things are not really going well for the visitors: they recently lost to West Ham and Arsenal.
It is obvious that the pre-season squad still needs time to form a functioning unit. The current season, however, is already over for the visitors.
Manchester United v Leicester – 02 April, 18:30
United suffered a Champions League defeat to the Madrid Colchoneros in their last competitive fixture, meaning the top flight is out of the question. In the league, the home side are in sixth place, which is why their participation in the Champions League is in serious jeopardy.
The visiting Foxes cannot be satisfied with this season either: In tenth place, coach Brendan Rodgers’ troops are in no-man’s land in the table and, as in the case of Aston Villa just mentioned, it is no longer possible to identify real season goals for Leicester.
Predictions of a home win are worth recommending for the matchday 31 clash at Old Trafford in the Premier League. The hosts, unlike the Foxes, still have a chance of reaching the international stage and will therefore be more motivated than the visitors.
The prediction is also supported by Leicester’s chronic weakness away from home: only Burnley, Norwich and Everton score fewer points away from home!
West Ham vs. Everton – 03 April, 15:00
The Hammers have lost ground in the fight for participation in the next Europa or Champions League. In the review of the past three rounds of matches, defeats were recorded against Tottenham and Liverpool.
Although Aston Villa were beaten in the meantime, this result is still not satisfactory for this year’s quarter-finalists in the Europa League, whose expectations have risen in the meantime.
However, the opponent would like to have problems of this kind, because the situation at Everton can still be described as extremely precarious. Even the change of coach a few weeks ago, when Frank Lampard took over the Mersey, has not yet brought about a positive upswing.
Five of the seven league games under the direction of the former Chelsea coach have been lost (2-0-5). For the match in the Premier League on matchday 31, predictions of a home win are worth considering.
Tottenham v Newcastle – 03 April, 17:30
Spurs occupy third place within the form table for the last five rounds of fixtures after Chelsea and Liverpool. Only against Manchester United they conceded a defeat in this review and the other four games were played victoriously.
Thanks to this result, the Londoners are now in fifth place and are within touching distance of the naturally targeted fourth place, which would still bring with it a ticket to next season’s Champions League.
However, Newcastle, who have also been stable of late, are looking over. The Magpies recently lost to Everton, but the defeat was very unfortunate as it came in injury time.
Before that, Newcastle had only lost to Chelsea in the flashback to the last eleven rounds of matches. The defence, in particular, is currently very secure: in none of the past eleven league games have more than one goal been conceded.
In light of this, value can be discovered in the tips and odds for the Magpies’ visit to London in the Premier League on matchday 31 on once again a maximum of one goal conceded for the visitors.
The prediction is also backed up by recent statistics, with the home side never having scored more than one goal in their last seven home league games against United.
Crystal Palace v Arsenal – 04 April, 21:00
The Eagles and Gunners contest the second London derby on this matchday. The home side, however, cannot rely on a home bonus: With four wins and four defeats each, as well as seven draws, the home record is merely even.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have improved considerably away from home recently: They have won all of their last five matches away from home! Admittedly, the tasks within this review were not too difficult, but the upcoming opponent is also only mediocre as currently twelfth in the table.
For the London derby in the Premier League on matchday 31, the expert tip therefore includes another away win for the in-form visitors.
