Will Jürgen Klopp’s series last on Boxing Day?
On Christmas match day in the Premier League, several exciting duels can be discovered on the match schedule. Among other things, fans can look forward to the City duel between the champions and Leicester.
Last-placed Norwich await the Gunners, who have been in good form recently, and Jürgen Klopp will be looking for a home win against Leeds United. His personal statistics speak in favour of this: In the four games as coach of the Reds on Boxing Day so far, “Kloppo” has always picked up a win.
The city duel between Tottenham and Crystal Palace will also take place in London. For all Premier League fixtures on Matchday 19, tips and odds can be found below
Liverpool vs. Leeds United – 26 December, 13:30
The Reds play their last home game of 2021 and expect an opponent that is ideally suited to a successful finish at Anfield Road, Leeds United. Bielsa’s eleven last conceded a 4-1 defeat to Arsenal and lost for the third time in a row.
In addition, the home side are the only team in the British top flight still unbeaten on home soil. For the Premier League match within the 19th matchday, tips on a home win, including an interval lead, are therefore of interest.
A course of play that has already been seen in five of LFC’s nine completed home matches – only Chelsea top that number.
Wolverhampton v Watford – Dec 26, 1:30pm
Wolves earned a respectable goalless draw at home to Chelsea last time out. However, the match once again highlighted the problems in the attack: Only the bottom team from Norwich scores fewer goals in a league-wide comparison than the Lage eleven. At home (5) they score even less than away (8).
The Hornets, however, arrive in shaky form: For four rounds of matches, only defeats have been recorded and their construction site is the defence: Only three teams in the Premier League concede more goals.
For the clash at Wolverhampton in the Premier League on matchday 19, value can be found in the odds on a draw at half-time. The hosts usually take it easy in games in front of their own crowd: In only one of their nine home games have they been ahead at the break and in two thirds a draw has been recorded at the half-time whistle.
Watford will be very defensive in parallel as they look to halt their run of defeats first and foremost, so a draw at the break tea and final whistle would certainly be fine as a result for the visitors.
Burnley v Everton – 26 December, 16:00
The Clarets have only picked up one win this season. With this in mind, it is little surprise that they currently occupy only one relegation place. But the Toffees have also been in no form for weeks: Only one victory has been recorded in the past eleven rounds of matches.
A real favourite can therefore not be identified. Therefore, predictions of a draw are a good idea for the matchday 19 encounter at Burnley in the Premier League.
A fixture that is popular with the hosts anyway: Eight of their 15 league games have ended in a draw – only Crystal Palace, Southampton and Brighton have this high number in the Premier League.
However, those clubs have also played two games more, which is why the men from Turf Moor currently hold the sole title of draw kings.
Manchester City v Leicester – 26 December, 16:00
The Citizens continue to be unstoppable: Victory over Newcastle last weekend bagged them an eighth successive treble. Since the end of October, when they lost at home to the Eagles, Pep Guardiola’s team has celebrated nothing but success.
Thanks to this great series, the champions are increasingly comfortable at the top of the table. Leicester also won 4-0 against Newcastle. However, that match was already a fortnight ago, as the visitors’ match was cancelled last weekend, which means they will be more rested.
For the match in Manchester in the Premier League on matchday 19, betting tips on a goal for the visitors after the break are worth considering.
Although the hosts have the best defence in the Premier League, when City do score, it is usually after half-time: eight of the nine goals conceded by the champions so far have come in the second half of the game.
Norwich v Arsenal – 26 December, 16:00
The Canaries have hardly any feathers left: With ten points they are at the bottom of the table and this placement they have earned by a harmless storm.
Only Teemu Pukki remembers his job description as a striker now and then and scores, but with only eight goals City clearly have the weakest yield of all clubs in the top flight of British football.
For their part, the Gunners are in a stable phase of the season. They have won their last three games and have climbed up the table to fourth place. For the match at Norwich in the Premier League on matchday 19, tips on an away win to nil are interesting.
Tottenham v Crystal Palace – 26 December, 16:00
Tottenham v Crystal Palace is the next derby in London. The Lilywhites recently held Liverpool to a draw and the upward trend after the coaching change at the beginning of November continues.
Under new Italian manager Antonio Conte, the hosts have yet to lose in league action, instead recording three wins and two draws. Spurs also have a score to settle with their upcoming opponents from the first leg, when the Eagles prevailed 3-0 in front of their own crowd.
Betting odds on a home win for the matchday 19 Premier League clash are worth considering due to the hosts’ stabilised form and added motivation from the first-round defeat.
Underpinning the prediction is Crystal Palace’s weakness away from home, with only six of their 20 points this season coming on foreign soil, although coach Patrick Vieira’s side have only conceded once less away than at home.
West Ham v Southampton – 26 December, 16:00
The Hammers get a visit from the south coast. The Saints have been unconvincing of late. For six matchdays they have been waiting for the next three-pointer. Instead, they have suffered three defeats and three draws. All of these defeats were recorded away from home.
However, the home side has been equally susceptible in recent weeks. Most recently, the derby against Arsenal was lost and in retrospect, only one victory was achieved in the past six rounds of matches. This was against none other than Chelsea, who were top of the table at the time.
For the Premier League clash inside matchday 19, predictions are for a home win. Despite all the problems for the hosts, who will also have to do without the suspended Vladimir Coufal on top, the home advantage should tip the scales in favour of the capitals.
Aston Villa v Chelsea – 26 December, 18:30
Chelsea have drawn twice recently. However, if the points are shared again, it would be a first for coach Thomas Tuchel, as there have not been three draws for him in his role as coach with the Blues. For their part, Birmingham will be pleased with Steven Gerrard’s debut so far as their new coach.
Four wins have already been recorded under Dean Smith’s successor, with the only other two defeats coming against top two clubs Liverpool and Manchester City.
For the Premier League clash on matchday 19, betting on a mutual goal celebration seems promising. The visitors have been particularly lacking in defence of late.
Only one of the Blues’ last seven competitive matches did not result in goals on both sides and the Villans have improved offensively under Gerrard – nine goals in the six games under his direction on the sidelines clearly show this.
Brighton v Brentford – 26 Dec, 21:00
The Seagulls and Bees are mid-table neighbours with 20 points each after 16 league games. The home side, however, will be less pleased with their record. They haven’t won in eleven rounds and nothing remains of their promising start to the season.
On the other hand, the fact that no less than eight of the eleven most recent games were not lost is certainly little consolation on the south coast. The promoted team is currently playing at a similar level, which is why we can expect an even match at the Amex Stadium.
For the clash in Brighton in the Premier League on matchday 19, predictions on a draw are thus interesting.
Newcastle v Manchester United – 27 December, 21:00
The Magpies last conceded an emphatic 4-0 defeat to Manchester City and any hopes of an upturn in fortunes after their first win of the season in early December have long since evaporated.
Instead, after the three-goal win against Burnley, they suffered three defeats and still do not occupy more than the penultimate place in the table. The main concern is the shaky defence, which allowed four goals in each of the most recent three defeats.
Admittedly, these were also against top clubs such as the Reds and Citizens, but the upcoming opponents naturally also belong in this category. Since the recent change of coach, the Red Devils have looked improved, especially in defence.
