Newcastle will again be hoping for their first win of the season at home to the Bees
After the international break, the Premier League enters its twelfth round of fixtures. The top game comes at Anfield Road as the faltering Reds welcome the in-form Arsenal.
The focus is also on three coaching debuts: Stephen Gerrard will be looking for a successful debut with Aston Villa against Brighton and Dean Smith will also be hoping for a win in his first game as coach of the Canaries against Southampton in Norwich. In addition, Newcastle take their next attempt at a first win of the season with newly installed manager Eddie Howe.
There are also three coaching debuts on the horizon, with Stephen Gerrard looking to make a winning start for Aston Villa against Brighton and Dean Smith hoping for a win in Norwich’s first game in charge of the Canaries against Southampton. In addition, Newcastle take their next attempt at a first win of the season with newly installed manager Eddie Howe.
Leicester v Chelsea – 20 November, 13:30
The Foxes have a completely even record of four wins and four defeats each, as well as three draws. Of course, this is too little for Leicester’s demands and the current twelfth place in the table is not very satisfying. One shortcoming is the vulnerable defence: only four teams in the British top flight concede more goals.
Again, the best defensive line now travels in the case of the Blues. A slim four goals conceded clearly show the defensive strength of the Tuchel eleven. It is also paired with the second-best attacking line, which scores an average of 2.45 goals per game.
The Londoners are also particularly safe away from home: they have conceded only one goal in five matches and have not yet conceded a defeat away from home. Given the inconsistent form of the home side and the stable form of the league leaders, the odds on an away win in this Premier League clash on matchday 12 are good.
Aston Villa v Brighton – 20 November, 16:00
Aston Villa are in freefall, with only defeats recorded for five rounds of fixtures. A series that has been Dean Smith’s undoing, as the manager has been out of a job since the last matchday. His successor is LFC legend Stephen Gerrard, who last celebrated the Scottish title with Glasgow Rangers.
It is obvious that the sale of Grealish to the Citizens has made Birmingham’s coffers ring, but the quality of the team has suffered greatly as a result. The upcoming opponents, however, are currently performing moderately: they have not won for six rounds of matches and the euphoria over a very strong start to the season has subsided on the south coast.
For the match at Villa Park in the Premier League within the 12th matchday, tips on a draw seem to be profitable. This is also supported by the visitors’ preference for this fixture: Five of the last six league games have ended in a draw and the home side would certainly be happy with a draw, as at least the run of defeats would have been halted.
Burnley v Crystal Palace – 20 November, 16:00
The Clarets have stabilised recently: Only one defeat in the past five rounds of matches, and the save shore has moved closer. The first non-relegation place is only two points away.
However, the visitors are also in constant form and are travelling to the tournament with a run of six unbeaten games. That this was not due to a possibly easy fixture list can be seen from the impressive success at the champions in the penultimate round of matches.
They also recently defeated Wolverhampton, a team that had also been in good form previously. For the match at Turf Moor in the Premier League on matchday 12, tips on an away win (DNB) are a good idea, as the visitors look more match-favourite than Burnley at the moment.
Watford v Manchester United – 20 November, 16:00
Watford continue to get nowhere. After the clear 5-2 victory on the third last matchday, there seemed to be a turn for the better, but this assumption has turned out to be deceptive after two more defeats.
This is especially true for the attack, which has already gone off duty again after scoring five goals against the Toffees and remained without a goal in the most recent defeats against the Saints and Gunners.
For their part, the Red Devils most recently lost the derby against City at home to Old Trafford and conceded their third defeat in the review of the past four matchdays. For the match at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on matchday 12, there is still enough value in the odds for an away win.
The home side are no less out of form and United have been much stronger away than at home so far. Ten of the season’s 17 points have come in away games, although there have been one fewer of those than home games to date.
Newcastle v Brentford – 20 November, 16:00
Newcastle now have the inglorious unique selling point of a continued lack of wins in the Premier League. The defence in particular has so far failed to prove its fitness for the division: Only Norwich, bottom of the table, have conceded more goals. However, the home side’s first win of the season will come against a suitable opponent.
The promoted team from Brentford has slipped badly in recent weeks. For four rounds of matches, they have only recorded defeats and recently even lost out to Norwich, who were also still winless at the bottom of the table.
For the clash at St. James’ Park in Newcastle in the Premier League on Matchday 12, betting tips on a home win are therefore worth recommending. This is also supported by the fact that Eddie Howe, a new coach, is making his debut with the Magpies and the home team will be particularly committed on his debut.
Norwich v Southampton – 20 November, 16:00
Daniel Farke picked up his first win of the season with Norwich last matchday as just mentioned, but he couldn’t save his job with the win over Brentford. Instead, he was shown the coaching chair shortly afterwards and the post is now held by Dean Smith, who had just been fired at Aston Villa.
While Southampton are only a team from the lower midfield, the form curve of Hasenhüttl’s eleven is clearly pointing upwards. Ten of the 14 season points have been collected in the review of the past four rounds of matches!
For the clash at Carrow Road in the Premier League on matchday 12, the odds for tips on an away win therefore come with value.
Wolverhampton v West Ham – 20 November, 16:00
Wolves suffered a setback last matchday. The defeat at Crystal Palace ended a run of five games without a defeat, four of which were won on top. West Ham instead celebrated an impressive victory against Liverpool before the international break.
Thanks to the treble, the Reds were overtaken and no less than third place is currently occupied by the Londoners. For the match at the Molineux Stadium in the Premier League within Matchday 12, the betting odds on a win for the visitors are particularly interesting.
The recent success against coach Jürgen Klopp’s eleven was the fourth win in a row, which is why the Hammers can be said to be in very stable form.
Liverpool v Arsenal – 20 November, 18:30
The Reds lost last against West Ham as described in the last section. So things are not really going well on the Mersey, as they only managed a draw against the Seagulls from Brighton before. The situation is completely different for the visitors.
After a three-loss start to the season, the capital city side have not lost for eight matchdays and have also successfully mastered their interim EFL Cup duties. For the matchday 12 clash at Anfield Road in the Premier League, predictions are for a draw as no real favourites can be identified.
Manchester City v Everton – 21 November, 15:00
The Citizens last beat United in the Manchester derby and were the winners at the top of the table with the Blues’ draw and LFC’s defeat. The champions are now back in second place, level on points with West Ham.
Everton, for their part, have gone off the rails. Without their top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin, their attack is particularly lacking – only four goals have been scored in the last five rounds of matches. Moreover, only Aston Villa have been worse than Everton within this flashback, with two draws and three defeats.
For the matchday 12 clash at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League, betting on a win for Guardiola’s side with at least a two-goal difference seems lucrative.
Tottenham vs. Leeds United – 21 November, 17:30 hrs
The Lilywhites gave their new coach Antonio Conte only a bland 0-0 draw at Everton on debut last matchday. The Italian was only able to add a few new touches to the team during the international break, as most of the players were busy with their respective national teams in World Cup qualifying.
The attack is one of the main problems: only Norwich, bottom of the table, scores less than Spurs! But at least Harry Kane’s four-goal haul in his Three Lions’ international against San Marino last Monday, laced in just 15 minutes, has given them renewed confidence.
However, there is also room for improvement in the counterparts of their upcoming opponents from the “Steel City”, who have averaged one goal per league match so far. Moreover, Bielsa’s team is not strong away from home: Only against the bottom team in the form of the Canaries have they won away from home so far, and this despite mostly easy tasks so far, such as the basement teams from Newcastle and Burnley.
