The Nigerian striker, who is aiming to move to Galatasaray, was absent from pre-season training. But reports from France suggest that PSG are still interested in signing him.
The 2025-26 season officially began today for Napoli, who gathered at the training center for the usual medical examinations before starting their actual training camp. But it was Osimhen’s absence that caused a stir. The club dismissed the matter in less than ten words: “Victor Osimhen is absent, having sent a medical certificate,” read the club’s statement. Thus, a sort of cold war continues between the Nigerian striker and Aurelio De Laurentiis, who is demanding the full €75 million release clause to let him leave.

gala e…—  Napoli and Galatasaray continue negotiations to bring Osimhen back to Istanbul. The parties are close, but in the meantime, from France – more precisely the sports newspaper L’Equipe – PSG’s interest in the Napoli striker is being relaunched. It was Luis Campos, now Al-Khelaifi’s advisor, who brought him to Ligue 1 when he was sporting director at Lille. The two know each other very well and who knows if they might not be reunited in the not too distant future. For now, however, the Turkish club remains in the driving seat. And Osimhen waits, officially “on sick leave.”
