Disappoints RSSS again away?

A day without live soccer from LaLiga? Currently hard to imagine, because between April 21 and May 4, April 24 was the only day without a LaLiga match. The English week will be concluded on Thursday evening, and on Friday there will already be the kick-off of the 32nd matchday of the current season in Pamplona. In the duel between Osasuna and Real Sociedad, the tip is favored on the guests.

An assessment that can definitely be questioned. The home side are playing a very strong season so far and have won three of their last four league games, among others. The guests from San Sebastian are to be favored according to the table, but have not won a league away game since mid-February. Moreover, a derby is governed by its own laws anyway.

The cities of Pamplona and San Sebastian are separated by just 80 kilometers and are both located in the tradition-conscious Basque Country. A competitive neighborly duel is to be expected, but not many goals. Arguments that with Osasuna and Real Sociedad the prediction in the direction of a low-scoring match is obvious can be read in the further article.

The guests could take a very big step towards the Champions League with an away win. But the hosts from Pamplona can also still dream of Europe. As the current eighth in the table, the team of head coach Jagoba Arrasate has its sights firmly set on Europe. The match kicks off on Friday evening at 9 p.m.

Osasuna – statistics & current form

With 44 points from 31 league games, the conclusion for the Arrasate eleven is extremely positive. The team from the Basque Country had not been able to show so many points in the last ten years at this point in LaLiga. Compared to the previous year, this means an increase of three points. However, it is not only in the league that the club can look back on an extremely successful season, but also in the Spanish King’s Cup. Osasuna is in the final and has a great opportunity to win the first major title in the club’s history. So far they have “only” four second division championships to their credit.

The games are not spectacular

The team from Pamplona is playing successful, but by no means spectacular soccer this season. The Arrasate eleven deliberately takes very few risks and stands extremely deep. Just 29 goals scored in 31 league games are by no means the statistics to be expected from a team that may sniff at a European starting spot. Thanks to the very good defense, however, this is enough for the team to have already won twelve games with 29 goals.

The defense around goalkeeper Sergio Herrera has conceded 32 goals so far. This results in 61 goals in 31 league games, an average that is below 2.00. The average of 1.97 goals per Osasuna game is the lowest figure in this LaLiga season. Just ten matches (32 percent) ended with a successful bet on the over 2.5. We don’t believe in an eleventh “over” and that’s why in the top tips between Osasuna and Real Sociedad you can find the prediction on the under 2.5. Risk-tolerant bettors can also try the Under 1.5, because the odds are also very good here.

The role as an outsider according to current betting odds can be discussed quite well. The home side have overcome the results crisis (only one win between matchday 18 and 27) and celebrated three wins in the last four games.

Real Sociedad – Statistics & current form

The Champions League is calling! The Basques are playing an excellent season and could achieve a top-four finish in the final standings for the first time in ten years. Head coach Imanol Alguacil has the Basque country in his heart, after all he used to be a youth player at RSSS himself. His jubilation at the press conference after winning the Copa del Rey (2019/20) is unforgettable. With seven matchdays to go, the Blue and Whites have a six-point lead over the fifth-placed team in the table, which means they could already be flirting with the top flight.

Lately a welcome guest

Don’t get too euphoric yet, though, as the San Sebastian team has a tough remaining schedule. With games against Barcelona (a), Real Madrid (h) and Atletico Madrid (a), the team still has the top three ahead of them. It will be all the more important to do their homework in the remaining games. However, RSSS has dropped a lot of points away from home in recent weeks.

The last away win came on February 13 at Espanyol Barcelona. That 3-2 win has now been followed by five away games in which the team has collected just two points and scored only one goal. Despite being on course for the CL, RSSS is also stingy with goals, as the offense around Alexander Sörloth (top scorer with ten goals) has only scored 39 goals. An average of 2.19 goals per game also suggests a sub-2.5. Based on recent away performances and results, the low odds on Osasuna vs Real Sociedad have no appeal when betting on the visitors.

Osasuna – Real Sociedad Direct comparison / H2H balance

When looking at the direct comparison, one tip immediately jumps to mind for the Osasuna vs Real Sociedad match – the under 2.5. In the last six games in the Spanish LaLiga, there has not been a single time to see three or more goals. The Basque derby is characterized by few goals and close games, in which mostly the team from Sociedad has the better end for itself. In each of the last four games RSSS celebrated a victory without conceding a goal (2x 1:0 and 2x 2:0).

Osasuna – Real Sociedad tip

According to the current table in LaLiga, between Osasuna and Real Sociedad the offered odds are definitely understandable. However, a closer look at the situation before the match on Friday night raises doubts about this quite clear favorite role in favor of the guests. RSSS has not been convincing away from home lately, while Osasuna has made an impressive step out of the crisis, collecting nine points in the last four league games.

Tendentially, a bet in the direction of the guests is more likely to be considered. The home win is associated with risk, but the bet “DNB1” certainly has an appeal to offer. Due to the defensive strength of both teams and the manageable offense on both sides, the tip recommendation between Osasuna and Real Sociedad is the prediction “Both teams meet? No.” As a bet for this tip we recommend six units.
