Will Ralf Rangnick also make a successful debut away from home?
Last-placed Norwich face a tough opponent in Manchester United. The Red Devils celebrated a home win against Crystal Palace last weekend and the team gave its new coach Ralf Rangnick a successful debut. It was also the second success in a row for the record champions, who had been in a nasty slump in the meantime.
The upward trend for the visitors is becoming more and more apparent. For their part, the home side recently suffered a 3-0 defeat at Tottenham, bringing their best period of the season so far to an end with two draws and wins. For the match at Carrow Road between Norwich and Manchester United, it is still interesting to bet on a draw until the half-time whistle.
Norwich – Statistics & current form
As mentioned, the Canaries have been plucked in recent times: They suffered a clear defeat at the resurgent Hotspurs. The game showed that the previous upswing was probably also due to an easy game plan. The first victories of the season came against Brentford and Southampton and thus exclusively against clubs also in the bottom of the table.
One shortcoming since the start of the season has been the lack of a solid defence: they have already conceded 31 goals – the highest figure in the Premier League. At least on home turf, however, they have stabilised somewhat recently: two of the last four home games even ended with a clean sheet.
Maximum of two goals in the course of a match?
With this in mind, betting on less than three goals by the final whistle at Carrow Road in the clash between Norwich and Manchester United is equally attractive. This is also supported by the fact that the home side’s attack is again quite harmless. Wolves alone score fewer goals in their home games!
An only conditionally stronger defence in the home games, coupled with a weak attack, quickly explains why the team of coach Dean Smith also carries the red lantern in the league-wide comparison in the home rating: They have already lost four of their seven home games (1-2-4).

Manchester United – Statistics & current form
The Red Devils have had an unsettled few weeks: after the sacking of Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer as coach, former player Michael Carrick first took over, but it was clear from the start that he would only fill the job on an interim basis. Now a temporary solution has been found in Ralf Rangnick.
The former RB Leipzig coach will fill the post until the end of the season. His debut on the last matchday already succeeded, although the victory against the Eagles was a hard piece of work. Nevertheless, there was little to be seen of the available playful brilliance of the noble squad.
Nevertheless, Rangnick is now a little ahead of his compatriots Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel, as the two aforementioned managers each failed to celebrate a victory on their debuts in the British top flight.
Rangnick brought only the second suit in the top flight
Manchester are further not at a physical disadvantage compared to the home side due to the extra game in the Champions League this week. In the encounter with Swiss champions Young Boys, Rangnick fielded an almost complete B eleven and spared his regulars.
The result was a 1-1 draw for the Red Devils at Old Trafford, but from a sporting point of view, there was nothing left to play for as the British side had already clinched victory in their group.
Will Manchester prevail in the second half of the match?
In view of the fundamental upswing since the sacking of Solksjaer and the comparatively easy task with the last team in the table, the odds on a win for the visitors in the second half of the match between Norwich and Manchester United are also a good idea. A course of play, moreover, that has already been seen in two of Manchester’s three away victories.

Norwich – Manchester United Direct Comparison / H2H Balance
The last time Norwich and Manchester faced each other was in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in June last year. On that occasion, the Red Devils scored an extra-time winner at Carrow Road. Thanks to that success, the visitors are on a run of four straight wins in this pairing.
The away record against City is also very positive for the sixth-placed team: Only three away games have been lost in the past 31 years (10-0-3)! For the upcoming edition of Norwich vs Manchester United, the odds also clearly assign the role of favourite to coach Ralf Rangnick’s eleven.
Norwich – Manchester United Tip
Norwich have the weakest home record in the Premier League, but this is mainly due to an often observable downturn in performance in the second half of the game. Three of the seven home games were lost only after the break – the highest value in a league-wide comparison.
For the match between Norwich and Manchester United, the tip is for a draw after the first period. Only in one of the seven home games played did the promoted team not score a draw at the interval! This was the match on the first matchday against the Reds, which is why this series has lasted for almost four months now.
Moreover, the last few weeks have given the hosts new confidence. Although, as mentioned, a very merciful fixture list helped, the first wins of the season have nevertheless given the hosts the feeling that they were right to make the leap to the top flight last season.
At least until the break, the underdogs should be able to hold on to a draw against the unquestionably stronger visitors. Betway offers betting odds of 2.40 on the match between Norwich and Manchester United.
