The Rossoneri summit is coming up: it’s decision time. The Young Boys full-back is an alternative to Doué. The Dane on loan is a valid option for the center forward.

When the plane braked to a halt, the Milan transfer market accelerated. The principle may be contrary to the laws of physics, but it is in line with the rules of the transfer market. Milan has ended its tour and, with the return of CEO Giorgio Furlani to Italy, will intensify the pace of decision-making. A transfer meeting is scheduled for the next few days—Monday or Tuesday—and, more generally, Milan knows that it is time to close at least a couple of chapters, one way or another. Ardon Jashari and Guéla Doué, of course.
Jashari and Doué are the two big names of July. Doué remains the top target at right back, but he is at the center of a complex deal: Strasbourg are asking for $30 million, and the fact that they are owned by Chelsea does not help. Milan thought they could get him for $20-22 million, and now a breakthrough is needed to reignite stalled negotiations. Allegri is rooting for him: he considers him perfect.

Athekame—  Milan is therefore looking around and has identified an alternative: Zachary Athekame, a Swiss right-back of Nigerian origin who plays for Young Boys and Switzerland’s Under-21 team. Initial contacts have already been made, and an offer could be made soon. Athekame is two years younger than Doué—he was born in 2004—and would be a different type of reinforcement: he played eight games in the last Champions League but has never left Switzerland and would have to face Serie A. However, some of his characteristics are interesting: he is athletic, quick, has legs to attack and find a teammate with a cross. Negotiations are still ongoing, but naturally the price would be far from Strasbourg’s valuation of Doué.

Jashari—  Friday’s news for Jashari was Bruges’ decision to include Ardon in the squad for the Champions League preliminary round against Salzburg on August 6 and 12. It is very unlikely that Jashari will be ready (he did not even make the bench against Malines yesterday), so the message is more psychological than anything else: Bruges is reiterating its interest in the Swiss midfielder and inviting Milan to raise its offer, which is not on the cards. The dialogue between Furlani, Tare, Moncada, and Allegri will be important here. With Jashari, it will be all or nothing. If the deal falls through, there are two options: go for an alternative – note that Javi Guerra could renew with Valencia shortly – or stick with the midfielders currently in the squad.

Vlahovic-Hojlund and…—  The big topic in August, however, will be the center forward. Dusan Vlahovic remains at the forefront: Allegri wants to bring him to Milan and Juve consider him on his way out. Of course, a financial agreement must be reached. Among the alternative names, Rasmus Hojlund and Gonçalo Ramos must be considered. For Ramos, the question is whether PSG will loan him out in the second half of August. Hojlund, on the other hand, is a possibility even earlier, on loan from United. Two days ago, Hojlund made it known that he wants to stay in Manchester, but the situation is evolving, and last season’s statistics—23 starts, four goals—show that the move to Manchester has not been the most successful. Could he be the next to board a plane?
