Will the Catalans continue their winning streak?
After FC Barcelona failed to get beyond a goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano in their first home game of the new season, the Catalans then loudly burst into life. The Blaugrana won all of their next five league games, scoring 18 goals to 1, and are currently the closest rivals to defending champions and leaders Real Madrid.
Now Barca must face the Balearic Islands after the international break, where RCD Mallorca have taken four from a possible six from their last two home games. The Bermellones are in tenth place with a total of eight points, but go into matchday seven as underdogs. The odds are very clearly in favour of the visitors in the Mallorca vs Barcelona match.
However, Xavi has to keep an eye on the strain control. Many key players were in action during the international break and the extremely important Champions League game at Inter Milan is already on Tuesday. All the more important, therefore, would be an away win at the Visit Mallorca Estadi.
We are confident that the Catalans will be able to make things clear ahead of time. We therefore recommend betting on an away win for the Blaugrana with an Asian handicap of -1.5 for Mallorca against Barcelona.
Mallorca – Statistics & current form
The Real Club Deportivo Mallorca has had a turbulent few years. In 2013, the Bermellones (the Vermilion) were relegated to La Liga 2, where only four years later they were relegated to the third division.
Even after that, the team from the Balearic Islands remained in constant motion. Two promotions in a row were followed by immediate relegation from La Liga, before the Piratas were promoted again to the country’s highest division in the summer of 2021. RCD is now in its second year here under Javier Aguirre.
Eight points out of a possible 18 from the first six league matches
With six league games completed, the chances of staying in the league again are quite good. The Mallorcans picked up eight points out of a possible 18 and thus went into the international break in tenth place in the table with a four-point lead over the first relegation spot.
Most recently, the Bermellones took four out of a possible six points from their last two home games. Accordingly, everyone involved was able to work calmly. Finally, RCD has only really been without a chance in the last away match at Real Madrid, where they conceded four of the only seven goals of the 2022/23 season (final score: 1:4).
No home win against Barcelona in 13 years
Now the Piratas are keen to get back to winning ways against the Catalan showpiece club, against whom their record looks very poor. The players from the Spanish Mediterranean island have lost all nine of their last league games against Barca, scoring 5:31 goals.
Consequently, the Bermellones will be underdogs in the run-up to this home match at the Visit Mallorca Estadi.

Barcelona – Statistics & current form
FC Barcelona have had a very complicated season. In 2021/22, they were 13 points behind arch-rivals Real Madrid in La Liga, while the proud Catalans also failed in the preliminary round of the Champions League.
This was compounded later in the season by the ignominy of Camp Nou shining in the colours of the SGE in the Europa League, who eliminated the Blaugrana on their way to overall victory in that competition. As is well known, the reaction of those responsible in the transfer market was correspondingly huge.
Five league games won in a row with 18:1 goals
Barca did not need too much of a run-up. Only on the first matchday against Rayo Vallecano did the engine falter in a goalless draw. After that, however, the Blaugrana won five league games in a row with 18:1 goals, with king transfer Robert Lewandowski already contributing eight goals.
No team in La Liga has scored more or conceded fewer than the Catalans, who are second in the table and waiting for Real Madrid to slip up for the first time. But the FCB will be looking to overtake the Blancos with a win at the Bernabéu on 16 October at the latest in the Clásico and set the course for the championship.
Is the Xavi eleven sending a signal to Milan?
But before that, coach Xavi’s squad also has a score to settle with the Champions League, where the pre-season exit is scratching the paint of the five-time overall winners. But because they lost 2-0 in Munich on the second matchday, points against Inter Milan in particular are elementarily important on the way to the last 16.
As a result, the upcoming away trip to San Siro is already casting its shadow, but should ensure that everyone involved on the Balearic Islands wants to send out an appropriate signal with a clear victory. Accordingly, it is interesting to bet on an away win for the Blaugrana with at least a two-goal difference in Mallorca against Barcelona.

Mallorca – Barcelona Direct comparison / H2H balance
Head to head: 17 – 11 – 41
There have been a total of 69 meetings between the two teams so far and with 41 wins, the majority of all games have gone to the Blaugrana. Most recently, Barca have won nine straight encounters against RCD Mallorca, scoring 31 goals to 5.
Mallorca – Barcelona Tip
For Mallorca against Barcelona, the prediction clearly goes in the direction of the visitors, who have warmed up in all sorts of ways after a goalless draw at the start of the season. Most recently, the Blaugrana won five league games in a row with 18:1 goals and scored a victory with at least a three-goal difference in every single encounter. The Bermellones’ defence could now be correspondingly overstretched, having already done little to counter leaders Real Madrid’s 1:4 defeat on the penultimate matchday.
The Mallorcans have won three of their six league games. Given the Catalans’ strength of form, however, this clash could once again be a clear-cut affair.
We recommend betting on an away win for the Blaugrana with at least a two-goal difference (AHC -1.5), for which odds of 2.02 are available on Mallorca vs Barcelona.
