Despite scoring in the second summer friendly against Stoke City, the Italian international is clearly not part of coach Slot’s plans

Liverpool has announced the squad list for its upcoming tour of Asia, with which the English club will continue its preparations for the start of the new season, which will see the Reds return to competitive action on August 10 in the Community Shield against Crystal Palace.
However, Federico Chiesa is not on the list, having had a difficult season in the Premier League, with rumours of a possible return to Italy. Despite scoring in the second summer friendly against Stoke City, the Italian winger is clearly not part of coach Slot’s plans. His omission from the squad is therefore another piece of evidence supporting the hypothesis of the Italian striker’s return, with Napoli having already expressed interest in him some time ago.

Outlook—Chiesa won the Premier League with Liverpool but found very little playing time: the Azzurri winger made only 14 appearances in total, six of which were in the league, and scored two goals. A return to Italy could also relaunch his national team career.
