Juventus sporting director Comolli aims to raise around €70 million through departures in order to throw himself into the transfer market: the Brazilian is one step away from Nottingham Forest

After all, the summer sales period began on July 5 in Piedmont, and the bargain season is not over yet. And even if it sounds like a big-box store slogan, the products involved in Juventus’ dream “3-for-2” deal are boutique items of the highest quality: Randal Kolo Muani, Nahuel Molina, and Edon Zhegrova. The mechanism is simple: if two players leave under the agreed conditions, three new signings could arrive to complete Igor Tudor’s squad, which still needs a facelift.
The two players in question are Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez, for whom Juventus general manager Damien Comolli is aiming to collect a total of €70 million: €40 million for the Brazilian and €30 million for the Argentine. The figures are not random, as they would prevent Juventus from incurring capital losses. This is where Juventus’ demands start for Nottingham Forest and Atlético Madrid, currently the main candidates to buy the South American duo leaving Turin. However, both clubs have so far stopped at around ten million euros less, making this the gap to be bridged in negotiations between the clubs’ management.
For CEO Comolli, the goal remains ambitious: to reach that €70 million mark quickly in order to attempt a hat-trick of signings before the end of the transfer window, a trio of signings necessary to bring the squad up to the level desired by the club’s top brass and Igor Tudor.
It’s no secret: in the current scenario, Kolo Muani is the closest reinforcement to Turin, even if the final details of the transfer fee still need to be ironed out with Paris Saint-Germain: the deal is expected to involve a €10 million loan with an obligation to buy at around €35-40 million, linked to easily achievable conditions. Having the Frenchman in Turin for the first day of Serie A on Sunday (8:45 p.m. at the Allianz Stadium against Parma) is not a foregone conclusion. Tudor certainly needs a new striker, but that is not the only thing the Bianconeri need. Nico’s departure would leave Joao Mario as the only option on the right wing, barring various adjustments, and Teun Koopmeiners’ move back into midfield would leave the attacking midfield a little exposed. This is where the ideas of Molina and Zhegrova come in, players who are already well-established at European level and therefore ready to play at a relatively low cost. For the Argentine, Atletico Madrid are asking for €25 million, and Juventus have begun talks, offering €15 million for a player who is currently in Diego Simeone’s second string at the Colchoneros. Juventus’ management is swayed by the fact that Nahuel has a lot of experience (he won a World Cup and two Copa Americas with Argentina) and knows Serie A well from his time at Udinese between 2020 and 2022 before moving to Spain. Zhegrova, on the other hand, is a starter at Lille, but his contract expires in 2026 and he has decided not to renew with the French club. Not called up for the first day of Ligue 1, the asking price for him is also €25 million. That’s a lot for a player in his last season before becoming a free agent. A talented left-footed right winger, he would allow Tudor to field a trident, but he could also play well in the attacking midfield in a 3-4-2-1 formation behind the center forward. With this “3×2,” the new Juventus would be truly complete before the end of the transfer window.
