A proud reaction in the second half after conceding three goals in the first 45 minutes, but goals from Pugno and Crapisto are not enough
Padoin’s Juventus Under-20s suffered an immediate home defeat against their Borussia Dortmund counterparts on the first day of the Youth League championship phase. It was a game of two halves, but the Germans’ solo effort in the first half ultimately proved decisive for the visitors’ victory. In the 9th minute, Bassino’s own goal at the end of a team move by the yellow and blacks quickly put Padoin and his team on the back foot. The second goal came almost immediately with a beautiful strike from Ignacio, who received the ball from Albert and controlled it with a backheel before beating Bramballi and slotting past Huli with the outside of his foot towards the far post. Juventus’ defense needs to be reviewed on this occasion, but Dortmund’s combination play was very impressive, and they managed to score a third goal in Vinovo in the 36th minute. This time, the play and goal were by Kegni, who beat Bassino and made it 3-0 for Dortmund, who had crushed their Juventus counterparts in the first half.
The reaction in the second half— The second half was a different story, but it wasn’t enough, only increasing the regrets for a lackluster first half. Twelve minutes into the second half, Juve tried to make amends with a header from Pugno; another four minutes passed and Crapisto believed until the end and doubled the score with a winning tap-in. However, the comeback was only half complete, and the two goals in those four minutes of the second half were not enough to recover a game that was effectively lost in the first half.
