A deal has been reached for just over €4 million: €2.5 million fixed fee, plus another €2 million in bonuses and a percentage of any future resale of the player

On the one hand, interest in Hajduk Split’s Mlacic had cooled in recent days. On the other hand, interest in Dinamo Zagreb’s Leon Jakirovic had heated up significantly in the last few hours. Inter pulled off another “Sucic-style” coup, reaching an agreement with the Croatian club and securing the defender of the future.

The agreement has been reached for a figure of just over €4 million: €2.5 million as a fixed base, plus another €2 million in bonuses and a percentage of the player’s future resale value. Inter beat out competition from at least a handful of other clubs: Jakirovic, a defender born in 2008 and considered a potential star of European football, was also being monitored by Barcelona, Napoli, Stuttgart, and above all Salzburg. But Inter beat everyone to it, booking medical examinations and the transfer to Milan of the (almost) former Dinamo Zagreb player.
