Does Hertha continue the positive trend?
In the Bundesliga, the hot phase is gradually beginning, in which the clubs want to draw a first interim conclusion. Both teams are not quite where they see themselves at the moment. That makes the direct duel all the more important.
Before the match between Hertha and Gladbach, the betting odds indicate a favourite role for the visitors. Gladbach – Statistics & current form
Borussia Mönchengladbach have an advantage this season due to their non-participation in European competitions. The team can prepare extensively for the opponent week after week. However, that didn’t help too much at the beginning of the season either, because in the first few weeks the yield was anything but ideal.
With seven points from three games, however, the Foals have recently been able to record a clear upward trend. Against Stuttgart, they fired 31 shots on goal and although the game only ended 1-1, this was a record for Gladbach in the Bundesliga. So it seems that the elements Adi Hütter changed recently are slowly but surely bearing fruit – very good news for the Foals.
Even though Hertha have looked good against Gladbach every now and then in recent years, the Foals have won four out of nine away games in Berlin recently. So the odds don’t seem bad at all. Despite an overall mixed start to the new season, some elements at Gladbach are positive. Recently, injured players have returned. Young players such as Beyer, Scally and Kone have also taken a clear step forward.
The only concern so far has been the away record. Here, Gladbach suffered all three defeats of the season and won only one match. The Foals have also not yet conceded a goal away from home and have conceded eight goals out of a total of eleven in the Bundesliga so far.
