Rose’s return to Borussia-Park

Also this week, Marco Rose is one of the big topics in the Bundesliga. Last week, the Leipzig coach made his debut at RB against, of all teams, his ex-club from Dortmund. In the meantime, it was off to the Bernabeu to Real Madrid in the top flight and now Marco Rose will play directly at his next former club when Borussia Mönchengladbach awaits RB Leipzig.

Both teams will not be particularly pleased that this game kicks off at 18:30 on Saturday. Both Borussia and the Saxons have played two games each at this time this season and both are still waiting for their first win there. At first glance, that sounds like a prediction of a points split between Gladbach and RB Leipzig.

A look at the table makes it clear that both teams are still a little to well behind expectations. After a good start to the season, the team from the Lower Rhine has slipped a little and is in eighth place with nine points from six games. The tendency is rather downward. With a home win, however, Daniel Farke’s team could move into a European Cup spot.

Leipzig want to get into the title race again this season or at least qualify for the Champions League. However, the Bulls currently have just eight points. Domenico Tedesco has already been sacked and now they have to see where the journey goes.

Gladbach – Statistics & current form

Borussia Mönchengladbach have been running a bit behind their own expectations lately. They lack consistency on the pitch. Yet the Foals are very well put together and this team should actually have the qualities to be able to take up the fight in the direction of the Champions League. However, it is likely that the top flight will remain a pipe dream this season.

The form curve is pointing downwards

At least defensively, the team from the Lower Rhine does not have much to reproach itself for. Only five goals conceded are the second best record of all Bundesliga teams. Yann Sommer, of course, has also played a considerable part in this. However, Borussia have only won one of their last five games and have failed to score twice. Somehow, it sounds like the odds on less than 2.5 goals could get interesting between Gladbach And RB Leipzig.

Last week, the Foals had to face the leaders in Breisgau. It should be known that it is currently difficult to take something with you in Freiburg. Daniel Farke can live with the fact that the points were shared in the 0-0 draw. Moreover, Borussia Mönchengladbach also toppled the league leader. For their own situation in the standings, however, this point only brought a little progress.

It is particularly bitter that Florian Neuhaus ruptured his cruciate ligament in this game and will probably be out for several months. This makes the international player the next notable absentee for the team from the Lower Rhine. Ko Itakura and Alassane Plea will also be absent against Leipzig. Nico Elvedi will have to see if he can make it to kick-off. Otherwise, Christoph Kramer could also play in central defence again.

Predicted line-up of Gladbach:
Sommer – Scally, Friedrich, Elvedi, Bensebaini – Weigl, Kramer, Kone – Hofmann, Stindl – Thuram – Coach: Rose

RB Leipzig – Statistics & current form

It’s not as if Marco Rose is turning everything inside out at RB Leipzig after his short-term enthronement. However, the Leipzig native has already provided a breath of fresh air for the Bullen with his manner. Last week’s 3-0 win over Dortmund showed the qualities the Saxons possess when they enjoy football.

Good performance in Madrid

In the Bundesliga, the red bulls have to start a race to catch up. All in all, despite the win against BVB, one can still speak of a crisis, as RasenBallsport have lost three of their last four competitive games. Marco Rose can’t be blamed for that, of course, but the bottom line is that it doesn’t necessarily speak in favour of predicting a win for the visitors between Gladbach and RB Leipzig.

But if we look at the improvement RB has made in the last two games, things look different again. After the win against Dortmund, there was a 2-0 defeat in the Champions League during the week, but that was at the hands of the title holders Real Madrid, after the Saxons played very well for a long time and were unlucky to lose in the end.

The form curve is definitely pointing upwards. However, after Marco Rose fielded an almost identical starting eleven in the last two games, he will probably rotate a little at Borussia-Park this weekend. However, the Saxons will also be without three important players. Dani Olmo, Lukas Klostermann and Konrad Laimer will continue to be long-term absentees.

Predicted line-up of RB Leipzig:
Gulacsi – Simakan, Orban, Gvardiol. Halstenberg – Schlager, Haidara, Kampl, Szoboszlai – Nkunku, Silva – Coach: Rose

Gladbach – RB Leipzig Direct comparison / H2H-Balance

Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig have now played together in the Bundesliga for six years. Therefore, all twelve previous encounters have also taken place in the top flight. The direct comparison is a very clear affair for the Bullen, who are 7:2 ahead after victories. Three games ended in a draw.

In the last four games between these two clubs, there have been four home victories. Borussia have thus won twice in a row at home against RB. The last duel was also played on the Lower Rhine. Gladbach won 3:1 at the beginning of May, with Breel Embolo and Jonas Hofmann scoring for the Foals with a brace. Christopher Nkunku equalised in the meantime. Nico Elvedi was sent off after just over an hour for the Borussia side.

Gladbach – RB Leipzig Tip

Both teams have not been getting the results you would have expected from them recently. Gladbach have won only one of their last five games, but concede relatively few goals. The Bullen have lost three of their last four games, which is due to a lack of penetrating power in the offensive. With Marco Rose, however, everything is supposed to improve for the Saxons.

We think the signs are pointing to a low-scoring game. Maybe the Bullen will win by zero. In any case, we can imagine a 1-0 or 2-0 away win very well and the quotes for that are very interesting.

That then also means that we give the Saxons the better chance of taking the three points. The two games under Marco Rose were very decent, even if they lost at Real Madrid, but that has happened to completely different teams. That’s why we decided to play the betting odds on an away win between Gladbach and RB Leipzig.
