Goals again scarce in Getafe?

Getafe vs Granada is a clash in the lower midfield of La Liga. The visitors are in 13th place and the home side are even more precarious in 17th. In their case, the relegation zone is only one point away.

Although Getafe started the new year with a bang, when none other than the top of the table Real Madrid was defeated on their own ground. But on the last matchday, they suffered another defeat at Sevilla.

However, the last opponent, second in the table, was of course also a very difficult opponent, which is why the defeat was entirely expected, especially as it was only a close one.

For the match at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez between Getafe and Granda, the tip now includes a result with less than three goals.

Getafe – Statistics & current form

Last year’s 15th placed team is already back in heavy waters as described. The reason for the predicament in the table is the weak offensive. Coach Michel’s team has only scored 13 goals in 20 league games this season. This is the weakest figure in a league-wide comparison!

However, the 2007 and 2008 cup runners-up can now count on the home bonus: 14 of the season’s 18 points have been earned in front of their own crowd. What’s more, their four wins so far this season have all come at home, and since mid-October the suburban Madrid side have not lost a game at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez (4-1-0).

Will the home side go through without conceding a goal?

With this in mind, the odds on a home win to nil in the clash between Getafe and Granada also make sense. This is supported by the fact that the defence is very solid in the home games: The fact that they have not conceded a goal in 360 minutes of play in these matches is a clear indication of this.

As a rule, the home side is very concentrated right from the start. In none of their ten home matches have they gone into the break trailing. A performance that is otherwise only matched by Real Sociedad in La Liga.

For this reason, tips on a home win, including an interval lead, are additionally worth considering for the clash between Getafe and Granada.

Granada – Statistics & current form

The ninth-placed team of the past season picked up a home draw against FC Barcelona on the last matchday. Admittedly, their opponents have seen much better days, but the draw in the form of a 1-1 against the Catalans is of course still respectable.

Moreover, from an objective point of view, it was not undeserved, even though the equaliser came in the penultimate minute of normal time. Moreover, it was the fourth game in a row without a defeat and within this flashback, even the reigning champion Atletico Madrid was defeated.

Granada are weak away from home

Like their upcoming opponents, however, coach Roberto Moreno’s eleven are less strong away than on home soil. Only one of the ten guest games this season ended with a victory. Moreover, their only win came at the bottom of the table, Levante from Valencia.

The Andalusians also rely heavily on Jorge Molina in their attack. The attacker has scored as many goals in the past five league games, making up the majority of the eight goals scored in total.

Predicted line-up of Granada:
Maximiano – Quini – Diaz – Torrente – Neva – Milla – Puertas – Gonalons – Machis – Molina – Suarez

Getafe – Granada Direct Comparison / H2H Balance

The “Nazaries” and Getafe parted with a 1-1 draw in the first leg, and thanks to the result, the visitors from the south are unbeaten in this pairing for four comparisons (2-2-0). They also have a slightly positive away record against Getafe: They have lost only two of their last seven matches at the “Azulones” (3-2-2).

Getafe – Granada tip

The home side have a very strong defence: Only three teams concede fewer goals in a league-wide comparison. The fact that they are only fourth from last in the table is therefore not due to the backline, but to a barely existent attacking line. They score the fewest goals in La Liga.

The combination of a reliable defence and a weak offensive line means that hardly any goals are scored in the games of the hosts. The average is just 1.7 per league match – once again the lowest figure in the Spanish top flight. In light of this, the forecast for Getafe’s match against Granada aims for a maximum of two goals by the final whistle.

This is a pattern that has only not been observed in six of the 20 games played by the home side. Underpinning the prediction are Granada’s visiting games, which have also been low-scoring.

The average number of goals scored in these matches is just two, and only three of the ten away matches played have exceeded the selected limit. So there is no sign of a goal festival for the match on Thursday evening.

Moreover, the past three matches have always ended with a result of less than three goals and on average only one goal was scored per match. Bet365 offers odds of 1.50 on the clash between Getafe and Granada
