Will the ‘Cherries’ go top of the table?

Fulham take on Bournemouth in a top-of-the-table clash in the Championship. The home side are in first place and the visitors are just one point behind the Londoners. Both teams have dominated the division so far.

Demonstrated by a lead of almost ten points each over third-placed West Brom. The Lilywhites will be banking on the home bonus more than anything else: Only one of the ten home games has been lost and no less than 70 per cent have been won.

The “Cherries”, however, travel to Craven Cottage as the team with the strongest away record so far! For the match between Fulham and Bournemouth, the tip aims for a goal celebration on both sides.

Fulham – Statistics & current form

The Cottagers can continue to rely on Aleksandr Mitrovic in attack. The Serb has already scored 21 goals in 19 league games! With this incredibly strong output, the striker is unsurprisingly in first place in the goalscorer rankings.

After a rather subdued performance in the top flight last season, Mitrovic is now picking up in the lower house where he left off with 26 goals in the 2019/2020 season. Back then, his equally strong record was the decisive pillar for promotion to the Premier League. Mitrovic has struck at least once in 14 of his 19 league games played so far.

Next goal by Mitrovic?

In view of this tremendous scoring prowess, the odds on his next goal in the clash between Fulham and Bournemouth are also value. Thanks to his consistently efficient play, the Londoners have by far the best attack in the Championship. They have scored an average of just under 2.5 goals per match to date.

By comparison, they score 13 goals more than their opponents, who have the second-best record in the division.

Coach Marco Silva, who took over the FFC before the season and won 14 of the 22 matches under his leadership (14-5-3), can also be satisfied with his defence. They have conceded only 16 goals – a joint best with West Brom and their upcoming opponents.

Predicted line-up of Fulham:
Rodak – Robinson – Ream – Adarabioyo – Odoi – Reed – Seri – Wilson – Carvalho – Kebano – Mitrovic

Last matches played by Fulham:

Championship
11/27 2021 – Preston 1 – 1 Fulham

11/24 2021 – Fulham 0 – 0 Derby

11/20 2021 – Fulham 4 – 1 Barnsley

11/06 2021 – Peterboro 0 – 1 Fulham

11/03 2021 – Blackburn 0 – 7 Fulham

Bournemouth – Statistics & current form

For the coach of the red and black, Scott Parker, the upcoming match is special: After all, he coached the opponent until last summer and as a player Parker was also active at Fulham. At his new employer, the 18-time international of the Three Lions has now introduced himself very well.

A dozen wins, six draws and only two defeats prove this verdict and the Cherries are very well in the race for the two direct promotion places. Furthermore, in Dominic Solanke, Parker currently has a striker on hand who is hardly inferior in terms of goal-scoring prowess to Mitrovic on the opposite flank.

Will Solanke also strike at the top of the table?

The Briton has scored at least once in seven of the last ten league games and is third in the Championship’s scoring charts. In light of this, the odds on his next goal in the clash between Fulham and Bournemouth are equally a good idea.

Otherwise, however, AFC’s fortunes have declined recently: the visitors have only managed one win in the past five rounds of matches, including a defeat at the hands of bottom club Derby County.

Although the bottom team is actually not that bad and the red lantern is only carried by the Rooney eleven due to a huge deduction of 21 points, the defeat was nevertheless another sign of a downturn in form for the red and black.

Offensive continues to be dangerous

This is particularly true of the “Boscombe” defence, as last season’s Championship sixth-placed attack continues to operate reliably. As can be seen from the fact that the visitors have always scored at least once in the past ten league games and even twice on average in the context of this flashback.

Predicted Bournemouth line-up:
Travers – Davis – Mepham – Stacey – Lema – Kilkenny – Anthony – Christie – Lowe – Solanke

Last matches played by Bournemouth:

Championship
11/27 2021 – Bournemouth 2 – 2 Coventry

11/24 2021 – Millwall 1 – 1 Bournemouth

11/21 2021 – Derby 3 – 2 Bournemouth

11/06 2021 – Bournemouth 4 – 0 Swansea

11/03 2021 – Bournemouth 1 – 2 Preston

Fulham – Bournemouth Direct Comparison / H2H Balance

The last time Fulham and the 2015 Second Division champions faced each other was in April 2019. On that occasion, the Capitals scored a 1-0 away win and the decisive goal was once again provided by the aforementioned top London striker Mitrovic.

However, it was the first win in retrospect in the past 23 years for the Cottagers in that pairing (1-2-3). That notwithstanding, the odds are leaning slightly towards a home win for the two-time Southern Football League champions in the upcoming edition of Fulham v Bournemouth, last seen 114 years ago.

Fulham – Bournemouth Tip

The “Whites” are on a good way to immediately make up for last season’s relegation from the Premier League. The league leaders clearly have the best attack and feature the current top scorer Aleksandr Mitrovic.

In addition, they can rely on the home bonus in the upcoming match, as only one of the ten home matches of the 2010 Europa League finalists was lost. For the clash between Fulham and Bournemouth, however, the prediction includes a two-sided goal celebration.

The Cherries are the strongest team to travel to the Whites so far. The visitors also boast the best away record and have a top striker in Dominic Solanke, who has already equalled last year’s haul of 15 goals after 20 league appearances.

Admittedly, the visitors have been a bit out of sorts lately, but this does not affect the unbrokenly stable attacking department, which is why at least one goal is to be expected from the second-placed team.

Betway offers betting odds of 1.70 on the match between Fulham and Bournemouth.
