Bellanova could leave Bergamo, Cambiaso’s future at Juve remains to be seen, a bidding war could break out for Palestra, and with Dumfries facing a crisis at Inter…
There’s a lot of activity on the right flank.
They start from deep and often go all the way to the end: they are Serie A’s most dynamic wingers. And inevitably, they are at the center of the transfer market. It’s no coincidence that in recent months, fullbacks (as they used to be called) have been making the difference. With positive effects for the national team as well. With the Azzurri, Gattuso continues to put his trust in the proven Di Lorenzo, a key player in Napoli’s Scudetto wins and someone who clearly excels in the role. Meanwhile, however, Andrea Cambiaso’s star has begun to shine at Juve: to tell the truth, he also performs well on the opposite flank; he is a versatile player, capable of excelling in the attacking phase as well as contributing defensively. And it’s no coincidence that the Bianconeri were tempted by the Premier League last summer. Arsenal, in particular, courted him, with a valuation nearing 40 million euros. In the end, however, he decided to pledge his loyalty to the Juventus colors. It will be interesting, though, to see what happens this summer, given the developments at Continassa. And assuming his name continues to be highly valued.
From Bellanova to Palestra— Speaking of which, Raoul Bellanova has also made a name for himself at Atalanta, and coincidentally, he too has been called up to the senior national team. In Bergamo, he is building on his resume following successful stints at Cagliari and Torino. In any case, first under Gasperini and now under Palladino, he seems destined to further refine his game. Needless to say, there is also considerable interest in him from abroad. But this start to the season has above all highlighted the progress of Marco Palestra, currently with Cagliari. The powerful winger from Buccinasco came up through the ranks at Atalanta, but after successful seasons with the Under-23s, he is now making a tangible impact in the top flight as well. And inevitably, his performance has caught the attention of our top clubs, as well as the eyes of Premier League scouts. Both Inter and Juventus are certainly keeping a close eye on him, as they’re both on the hunt for new talent in that position. In Turin, they need to confirm Cambiaso’s commitment, but even if he stays, it would be more than convenient for Spalletti to have two interchangeable options on the wings.

From Dumfries to Norton-Cuffy— Meanwhile, at Inter, the crisis in the relationship with Dutchman Dumfries is making headlines. It follows, therefore, that Marotta and Ausilio are also focusing on Palestra. No less important is the opportunity at Genoa. The reference, inevitably, is to Brooke Norton-Cuffy, the English talent who is tempting Inter and Juve as well as Napoli itself. A move back to England for him, however, should not be overlooked. It is inevitable, in short, that the powerful clubs of the world’s richest league will pounce on emerging names in Italy. In this regard, it is also worth taking a look at Bologna.
Under Vincenzo Italiano’s guidance, Swedish player Emil Holm is making a name for himself as an assist provider: four to his credit. Behind him, Nadir Zortea’s performance is also on the rise; he recently arrived from Cagliari after a more than satisfactory season. Scouts are showing keen interest in them as well. And while it’s true that the Emilia-based club has ambitious goals, the courtship is clearly tempting.
new entry— Close behind, the progress of Portuguese player Danilo Veiga is also worth noting; he arrived in Lecce a year ago and is now delivering thoroughly convincing performances under Eusebio Di Francesco. In general, it is interesting to observe how progress in this delicate role stems from comprehensive technical and tactical work. In midfield, the spaces are becoming increasingly crowded. That’s why those playing on the wings are being given ever-greater responsibilities. They’ve become versatile players, capable of doing it all. This is another reason why teams everywhere are starting to envy them a bit.
