Typical points split between Glasner and RBL?

The fact that the Austrian football coach could equalise an old record of Winnie Schäfer, who once shared the points with Kaiserslautern seven times in a row as head coach of KSC, with the seventh draw in a row may only be a side note for himself. Depending on how the game goes, however, the Eintracht coach would probably not be at all unhappy should a prediction of the draw pay off again between Frankfurt and RB Leipzig.

After all, the SGE would remain unbeaten in what would then be their fourth Bundesliga game in a row and celebrate a reasonably successful dress rehearsal for Wednesday’s Champions League opener against Sporting Lisbon. The visitors from the central city will certainly have something against that, however, and will want to celebrate their second win in a row themselves.

Frankfurt – Statistics & current form

In Eintracht Frankfurt’s office, they will have been eagerly awaiting the transfer deadline last Thursday at 18:00. After Kostic and Hinteregger left the club in the summer as absolute key players and identification figures, those responsible could not be sure until the very end whether another painful departure might occur.

Now, however, coach Oliver Glasner has the certainty that he can fall back on his existing squad at least until the winter period. Combined with last Sunday’s important first win of the season at Werder Bremen and the upcoming premiere in the top flight, things can now really get going for the reigning Europa League champions.

Frankfurt have lost their home aura in the Bundesliga

With all the euphoria and anticipation, however, it must be pointed out that the Hessians have failed to convince at national level in recent weeks and months across the season. In front of their home crowd alone, the Eagle Bearers have only managed to win one of eleven home games in the 2022 calendar year (four draws, six defeats). The black-and-red team has not won in six Bundesliga matches at Deutsche Bank Park. Against this background, betting on the home side between Frankfurt and RB Leipzig automatically involves a certain risk.

To make matters worse, the SGE have had a suboptimal first four matchdays, with two draws, one defeat and only one three-goal haul, and are currently eleventh in the intermediate rankings. Four goals were conceded in the opening quarters. Because RBL usually gets off to a good start and only Bayern scored more goals in the first 15 minutes of a match than the Messestädter, the opening phase could already provide important information about the outcome of this match.

We are primarily concerned about the two full-back positions. The young Italian newcomer Pellegrini simply doesn’t have the necessary experience yet to deliver consistently good performances over a full match duration. Substitute right-back Jakic could be pushed to his limits for the first time against the Saxons’ speed dribblers and half-space artists. Coach Glasner would have enough options, because with the exception of Buta, all men are on board. Offensively, hopes are once again pinned on Kolo Muani, who has been involved in four goals in his first four Bundesliga games.

Predicted Frankfurt line-up:
Trapp – Jakic, Tuta, Ndicka, Pellegrini – Sow, Rode – Lindström, M. Götze, Kamada – Kolo Muani

RB Leipzig – Statistics & current form

RB Leipzig had to wait until the fourth matchday before they managed to get their first three points last weekend with a 2-0 win over VfL Wolfsburg. In total, the Messestädter now have five points, the same number as Eintracht Frankfurt. Of course, those responsible for coach Domenico Tedesco are not satisfied with this result.

RB Leipzig need to work on their chances

This makes it all the more important for the ambitious title contenders in the Bundesliga to follow up with a second win in Frankfurt’s Stadtwald on Saturday evening. The still good record under the German-Italian coach gives hope in this respect. RBL has won 21 of the 36 games under Tedesco. On average, the Saxons have collected almost two points per game with the ex-Schalker on the sidelines. The 1:2 at Union Berlin a fortnight ago was only the third away defeat in league play under Tedesco.

Apart from that, it should also be noted that the reigning cup winners had chances to win in all games. This is also supported by the fact that only FC Bayern has a higher value for expected goals than RBL.

Since Timo Werner and Co. were able to get the pent-up frustration off their chest in the 8-0 win against regional league team Teutonia Ottensen in the first main round of the DFB Cup last week, and since the offensive knot may have been broken, we believe that several goals can be scored again in the financial metropolis. After all, the central cities will be facing the second most vulnerable defence in the top flight, having conceded eleven goals already.

Tedesco is not short of options

National player Werner is definitely a potential goal scorer, as he has already indicated his importance for Leipzig’s attack with a goal and an assist in his first three league games and has now even laced a treble in the cup. If you want to place a bet on a Werner goal, you can find exciting betting odds in the 2.50 range between Frankfurt and RB Leipzig.

In terms of personnel, Tedesco will still have to do without Klostermann and Poulsen. Even regular keeper Gulacsi returns between the posts to replace Blaswich. Gvardiol, who extended his contract on a long-term basis without an exit clause on Thursday despite a concrete request from the Premier League, would be an alternative in the defensive back three for Simakan or Halstenberg. Szoboszlai will have to sit on the bench after serving his ban, as will new signing Abdou Diallo, who was unceremoniously loaned out by Paris St. Germain with an option to buy.

Predicted line-up of RB Leipzig:
Gulacsi – Simakan, Orban, Halstenberg – Henrichs, Laimer, Kampl, Raum – Dani Olmo – Werner, Nkunku

Last matches played by RB Leipzig:

DFB Cup
31/08/2022 – Teutonia Ottensen 0 – 8 RB Leipzig

Bundesliga
27/08/2022 – RB Leipzig 2 – 0 VfL Wolfsburg

20/08/2022 – Union Berlin 2 – 1 RB Leipzig

13/08/2022 – RB Leipzig 2 – 2 1. FC Köln

07/08/2022 – VfB Stuttgart 1 – 1 RB Leipzig

Frankfurt – RB Leipzig Direct comparison / H2H balance

Frankfurt have hosted RB Leipzig seven times in the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal. However, the city on the Main has never been able to win. Four of these seven encounters ended in a draw. In general, the draw is the standard result for these teams. There was no winner in seven of twelve competitive matches. Four times in a row the points were shared in the Bundesliga. Three wins each for both teams round off the record across competitions.

Frankfurt – RB Leipzig Tip

Everything seems to be open on Saturday evening from 18:30 between Frankfurt and RB Leipzig. According to the odds, however, the reigning cup winners from Saxony have the advantage.

This assessment is partly due to the fact that Eintracht have only won one of eleven home games in 2022, have already conceded eleven goals and are still finding their feet. The “red bulls”, on the other hand, landed two important victories for their self-confidence in the previous week with a 2-0 win against Wolfsburg and on Tuesday with an 8-0 win against Ottensen, in which they were finally able to turn their superiority into goals.

We believe that the central city team has too many weapons on the offensive and also argue that with Jakic and Pellegrini, the SGE is not optimally staffed, especially on the defensive flanks. As the game progresses, the pressure on the Black-White-Red should become so great that Werner and Co. take the lead and subsequently win an away game in the Main metropolis for the first time in their own history.

The most promising value between Frankfurt and RB Leipzig is therefore the bet on an away win.
