The former Giallorossi striker, now at Aris Thessaloniki, came off worse in an attempt to defend his dog, which had been attacked by another animal

A nasty and decidedly painful ordeal for Carles Perez. The former Roma and Barcelona player is in hospital in Thessaloniki (Greece) in serious condition after being bitten in the genitals by a dog. According to Greek sources, Carles Perez was walking his dog when the animal was attacked by another dog that had been let loose by its owner. The Aris Thessaloniki striker intervened to defend his dog and was bitten, sustaining a wound that required six stitches. Celta Vigo, the owner of the striker who played in Italy with Roma for two seasons between 2020 and 2022, is also concerned.

How is he?—  Perez’s entourage clarified in the evening that the player was bitten in the groin and has a cut to his adductor muscle but no particular damage to his genitals. Perez was promptly taken to hospital and admitted as a code red case, but after some tests it was decided not to perform emergency surgery. The player will return home and undergo treatment to return to the field as soon as possible.
