Celtic Glasgow are doomed to win
For Ferencvaros and Celtic, the Europa League chapter could soon be over as these teams are only third and fourth in their group respectively, while Leverkusen and Real Betis have already marched away a little bit
In the run-up to the match between Ferencvaros and Celtic Glasgow, the odds indicate favouritism for the visitors from Scotland. The first leg already showed some differences.
Individually, the guests should have advantages. A win would increase the pressure on the top two teams in this group. The match will kick off at the late kick-off time on Thursday, i.e. at 9 p.m.
Ferencvaros – Statistics & current form
Ferencvaros do not have a bad team together, however, the starting position in the Europa League group is very bad. Leverkusen and Real Betis are on seven points, Celtic Glasgow on three after beating the Hungarians in the first leg. This means that even “relegation” to the Conference League will also be difficult for Ferencvaros.
For that, at least a win against the Scots is needed. Ideally, the 0:2 from the first leg should even be turned around. However, that is not very likely. Before the match between Ferencvaros and Celtic Glasgow, the betting odds suggest that the visitors are favourites to win the match.
The quality in the domestic league is a problem for Ferencvaros, as their opponents are better in the Europa League. This is one of the reasons why the team of Peter Stöger, who is known to the Bundesliga and has Marko Marin in the squad, conceded at least two goals in every group match.
The odds are stacked against the hosts
So there is definitely a question as to whether Hungary can compete at this level. In the domestic league, the team is in good form, standing at 22 points from the first ten games, which means second place. One problem, however, is the performances at home. All competitions combined, Ferencvaros Budapest have already lost six home games this season.
In the domestic league, the Hungarians have often shown their qualities in the offensive area. These are definitely present, some players have a lot of speed to offer in particular. In total, the hosts have already played seven games in which they scored at least three goals. Therefore, before the match between Ferencvaros and Celtic Glasgow, our prediction is that both teams will score.
The chances of the hosts picking up a point are rather slim, given the mix of past performances (especially in Europe) and individual class.

Celtic Glasgow – Statistics & current form
Celtic Glasgow are playing a decent, but not an outstanding season. Coach Ange Postecoglou’s side suffered a 0-0 draw with Livingston FC at the weekend, and overall have too many games under their belt where one part of the team is not performing solidly. This was also evident against Betis and Leverkusen in the Europa League. In the domestic league, the gap to arch-rivals Rangers is already four points.
Offensively, Celtic Glasgow certainly have potential and have already scored over 40 goals in competitive matches. That’s one reason why our value tip before the Ferencvaros vs. Celtic Glasgow match is that a total of more than 2.5 goals will be scored.
With a win in Hungary, the Scots would have a good chance of finishing second after all. Betis and Leverkusen play each other in a direct duel, so one of these teams will definitely slip up.
Celtic Glasgow concede too many goals
Defensive play is a factor to consider, though. In each of their first two games in the Europa League, Celtic conceded four goals. That is definitely too much if they are still to believe in progressing. After all, third place is enough to spend the winter at the international level. Then it’s off to the Conference League. It is curious that the defence actually works well in the league and that they have conceded fewer goals in twelve games than in the group phase of the Europa League.
But that has to do with the quality of the opponents, among other things. In addition, Celtic Glasgow concede significantly more goals away from home than at home. This is another reason why, before the match between Ferencvaros and Celtic Glasgow, our tip is that both teams will score.

Ferencvaros – Celtic Glasgow Direct comparison / H2H record
The Scots were able to record a 2-0 home win in the first leg. However, that was not the first match, as the two already faced each other in pre-season. Back then in the qualifying round, which was decided by one game. The Hungarians narrowly prevailed 2:1.
Ferencvaros – Celtic Glasgow Tip
Ferencvaros have their backs to the wall and are certainly the weakest team in this group in terms of quality. A win against Celtic Glasgow is a must, but even then only third place seems realistic
For the visitors from Scotland, however, the chances are at least somewhat better. Against a team that has been weakening from time to time, especially at home, Celtic will be looking to celebrate an important victory and attack the top two places. The bookmakers see the Scots in front in any case. However, because the two clubs have defensive deficiencies, our tip before the match between Ferencvaros and Celtic Glasgow is that both teams will score.
