Dresden v Ingolstadt Tipp & Quoten, 24.07.2021 – 13:30 o’clock
Both Dynamo Dresden and FC Ingolstadt are back in the 2nd Bundesliga. The first goal of the season for both teams will be to avoid relegation. And the fight for it starts on the first day of the game, which will start this weekend. On Saturday afternoon there will also be the duel of the two climbers, which of course both sides want to win as much as possible. Dresden is slightly favoured due to the home advantage, but both sides will have their chances. Apart from that, Dresden also ended up in the 3rd division ahead of Ingolstadt at the end of the season, so they have a bit of a lead in this regard. While Dresden only spent one season in the 3rd division, Ingolstadt had two seasons. It must now be shown how well they can hold their own in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Rudolf Harbig Stadium starts at 1:30 p.m. (CET).

Dresden did it. After a clear relegation to 18th place in the penultimate season, they managed to get back on the podium last season. For this, they took first place in the 3rd league, which means they are back in the 2nd Bundesliga. Now the only question is whether the team can stay here. In the last fifteen years Dresden has already had three promotions to the 2nd Bundesliga. Usually the first season after that was not bad at all. After the promotion in 2016, they finished in 5th place. Only the subsequent seasons became thin. In this respect, it is probably to be expected that Dresden will enjoy this season.
Alexander Schmidt, who took over the position in April, can currently be found on the Dresdner Trainerbank. With it, therefore, the class maintenance project is now to be tackled. Of course, they also want to take advantage of the momentum of the previous season. There were some test games in preparation as well. Braunschweig were beaten 1-0 at the beginning of July, but in the end they had to admit defeat to 0-3 Union Berlin. But it’s not until the weekend that Ingolstadt will have to deal with it.
Robin Becker, Patrick Weihrauch, Sebastian Mai and Patrick Wiegers will be out of action for the match against Ingolstadt.

FC Ingolstadt is also back in the 2nd Bundesliga. Ingolstadt took a season longer after relegating in 2019. After a good fourth place, it was enough to finish in third place last season. Afterwards, they were able to prevail in the relegation against the VfL Osnabrück, even if it was close. After a 3-0 lead in the first leg, they lost the second leg with 1-3, which of course led to promotion. In the last ten years, Ingolstadt’s results in the 2nd Bundesliga have been mixed, only in 2015 did the spectacular promotion to the 1st Bundesliga succeed. I don’t think that’s something to think about this season.
The manager of FC Ingolstadt is Roberto Pätzold, who took over this job at the beginning of July. Pätzold had also been the interim coach of the Ingolstadt team for a game in 2018 and then took over the U17. Ingolstadt have last played a friendly against Greuther Fürth, which ended in a 1-1 draw. In Dresden it won’t be easy, but in order to stay in the classroom these are also the games in which points have to be scored.
Only Patrick Sussek is expected to be absent from FC Ingolstadt.

When it comes to betting providers with a German licence, the odds are more in favour of Dynamo Dresden. After all, Dresden also had the edge over Ingolstadt in the 3rd division and also the home advantage this weekend. The last time they met was in February and that became a very clear affair for Dresden in their own stadium. Dynamo was able to win with 4:0. Nevertheless, this is not going to be a no-brainer on Saturday. It is the start of the season and therefore no team is already at full performance. Therefore the tip on draw between Dresden and Ingolstadt.
