The Croats met Scotland on the last matchday. Already in the early stages it was clear that both teams would need a win in order to reach the eighth finals. The Scots got off to a better start and came to good scoring opportunities in the early stages. However, the leading goal fell on the other side. After 17 minutes, Vlasic headed a Perisic lead to 1-0. Croatia now controlled the action but still had to live like out of nowhere shortly before the half-time break with the 1:1 by McGregor. In the second round, the “fiery” had more of a match and gained a good shot. Modric scored the leading goal in the 61st minute. The Bravehearts were eager to get an answer, but lacked the coolness in graduation. In the 77th minute, Perisic put the lid on after a modric corner and scored 3-1.
With the 3-1 victory on the last match day, Croatia was able to move to second place in Group D. Previously, the points were divided with the Czech Republic after a 1:1. The first match day resulted in a narrow 0-1 defeat against England. The gap to the top rider from England amounted to three points. The offensive scored four goals and the defense was conceded three goals. Ivan Perisic is the best attacker on the Croatian side in the competition with two goals.
A look at the odds reveals that Croatia is acting as a clear underdog to the European Championship’s earnings. The competition just seems too strong.

At Furia Roja the knot seems to have finally burst on the last day of the group match. After two draws in a row, Slovakia was finally swept away with a score of 5:0. „La Seleccion“ played from the beginning forward and put the Slovaks under pressure. Only a few minutes had elapsed, when referee Kuipers ruled a duel between Hromada and Koke in the penalty area of the Slovaks to be unlawful and decided Spain on penalties. However, Dubravka held against Morata (12th). Spain had already awarded a penalty against Poland. This time, however, they continued to block the defence. An own goal ensured the Spanish lead in the 30th minute. Shortly before the break whistle Laporte increased to 2:0. Eleven minutes had elapsed after the change of sides, when Sarabia set the score to 3-0. Another eleven hand turns later, Ferran Torres netted 4-0. The crowning conclusion was offered by another own goal of the Slovaks to the 5:0 final.
However, the first two approaches were less convincing from the point of view of the Spaniards and led to a draw against Poland and Sweden. The first day of the match ended without goals against Sweden. The second group game brought a 1-1 draw against Poland. In both approaches, the Spaniards were set as a clear favourite in terms of quotas. With the victory on the last day of the game, the second place in the league jumped out behind Sweden. The gap to the leader from Sweden was two points. The offensive scored six goals and the defense was only conceded one goal.
The Spaniards are not one of the big favourites in this EURO. Nevertheless, the cadre should not be underestimated. After all, it has a total market value of more than 915 million euros.
