Due to the very clear defeat on the first match day, the team immediately slipped to the last place in the table in group B. Even before the first group game, the Venezuelans were rated as a clear underdog at the Copa. Competition in Group B with Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru just seems too strong.
