Another draw for Valencia?
Celta Vigo take on Valencia in a mid-table clash in the Spanish top flight. The hosts are in 13th place and the visitors are in eleventh place with a three-point difference. The footballers from Galicia and the visiting eleven also each have a run of four league games without defeat.
The closest parallel is the haul of three draws and one win in this flashback. For the clash at the Estadio Balaídos between Celta Vigo and Valencia, the tip is now again aiming for a draw.
Celta Vigo – Statistics & current form
Coach Eduardo Coudet, who has an almost completely balanced record with 18 wins and 17 defeats as well as eleven draws since taking office in November last year, last celebrated a three-pointer at Alaves. A somewhat flattering success, as a draw would have been the more deserved result from an objective point of view.
In the 2-1 win against Deportivo, both strikers Santi Mina and Iago Aspas got on the scoresheet. The duo have now scored eleven of their 16 goals this season and are the lifeblood of an otherwise average attack – ten teams scored less often in La Liga than last season’s eighth-placed side.
Aspas is efficient on the move again
Oldie Aspas in particular, who has always had a double-digit goal tally for each of the last six seasons, has been on a scoring spree of late. This can be seen in the three goals he has scored in the last three league games. Against this background, the odds on his next goal in the clash between Celta Vigo and Valencia are also worth considering.
Furthermore, the Celts cannot rely on a home bonus. Only one of the eight home games was won (1-2-5). This is the worst result in the league after Levante and Cadiz, who have not yet won on home soil.
In the home matches, the “Celtinas” take it easy on top. In none of the matches was a lead achieved before the break. In view of this, the odds on a goalless draw at half-time are a good idea for the comparison between Celta Vigo and Valencia. The prediction is underpinned by the bats’ visiting record, which itself has yet to sweeten the break tea with a lead in any away game.

Valencia – Statistics & current form
Coach Jose Bordalas was installed as the new manager after a disappointing 13th place finish last year at the 1980 European Cup Winners’ Cup winners. However, he has not really been able to bring Valencia forward. Currently, as described, they occupy eleventh place in the table.
One reason is the shaky defence: only four teams in La Liga concede more goals than the black and whites. Moreover, the performances away from home are weak. No more than six of the season’s 19 points have come from away games.
Only Bilbao draws more often
The two-time Champions League finalists are also among the draw specialists in the division. Seven of their 15 league games ended in a draw – only the Basques from Bilbao top this high number. The preference for a draw can also be seen at present: For the last three rounds of matches, a draw has always been recorded in the games with Vallecano, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid.
A disadvantage for the visitors, however, is the later cup match this week, which shortened Valencia’s regeneration time by two days. Like their upcoming opponents, however, the Copa del Rey task was easily mastered, beating underdog Utrillas 3-0 away last Thursday night. In addition, some regulars such as top scorer Soler were spared, which is why the physical disadvantage compared to the home side is limited.
Predicted line-up of Valencia:
Cilessen – Foulquier – Diakhaby – Alderete – Gaya – Costa – Wass – Guillamon – Soler – Guedes – Duro
Last matches played by Valencia:

12/02 2021 – CD Utrillas 0 – 3 Valencia

11/21 2021 – San Sebastian 0 – 0 Valencia

10/30 2021 – Valencia 2 – 0 Villarreal FC
Celta Vigo – Valencia Direct comparison / H2H record
The last time the 2004 UEFA Cup winners and Celta met was last February in Valencia, with the Blanquinegros scoring a 2-0 home win. However, both goals came in stoppage time and their opponents were sent off.
Thanks to the success, the winners alternated in this pairing for the fifth time in a row! In contrast, the Galicians have a positive record from home games against the Black and Whites in the recent past: Four of the last six home games in league play and Copa del Rey were victorious (4-1-1). The bookmakers also have the home side as favourites for the upcoming clash, although only moderately so.
Celta Vigo – Valencia Tip
The four-time cup runners-up and Valencia are in similar midfield areas in the table and look on a par in terms of play. The Himmelblauen’s home weakness is further offset by the bats’ poor output in away games.
It is therefore impossible to identify a real favourite, which is why the forecast for the clash between Celta Vigo and Valencia includes a draw. This outcome has almost been the rule in both matches, as three of the last four games between the opponents have ended in a draw.
What’s more, the visitors have almost 50 per cent odds on a draw this season! Bwin offers betting odds of 3.30 for the clash between Celta Vigo and Valencia
