Will the Rojiblancos continue their winning ways?
Cádiz CF have won just two of their 18 league games so far. The Pirates thus occupy the penultimate place in the current La Liga table, but are only one point behind the save bank. Accordingly, a point in the Andalusian duel with the current second-placed Sevilla FC would definitely be worth its weight in gold.
However, the Rojiblancos arrive in good form. Sevilla have not lost any of their last six games at national level (five wins, one draw) and have conceded just three goals in that period. Accordingly, in the run-up to the match between Cadiz and Sevilla, the odds are clearly in favour of the visitors.
At the same time, practically all the numbers are against the home side. Cadiz have not only lost their last five competitive games against the Rojiblancos by 2:14 goals. The Pirates have also not won a single home game in the 2021/22 season and thus even hold the red lantern in the La Liga home table.
Therefore, there is no alternative to betting on an away win for the Nervionenses in Cadiz against Sevilla. A hedge – for example, a “Draw No Bet” against the goalless draw that Cadiz just won against Real Madrid – would be too detrimental to the odds. However, some risk could be taken off the ticket by using a free bet.
Cadiz – Statistics & current form
Cadiz Club de Fútbol even slipped into the third division for a time after their last relegation from La Liga in the summer of 2006, from which the Andalusians extricated themselves again in the 2015/16 season. Four years later, the Pirates managed to return to the country’s highest division.
Last season, the squad of long-time success coach Álvaro Cervera held its own in the top flight, finishing twelfth in the final table. In the new season, however, the yellow-blue team has lost some of its balance.
The worst home team in La Liga
Only two of the 18 league games so far have been won by Cervera’s eleven, with both victories coming in away games. At home in Nuevo Mirandilla, the Andalusians have yet to win a single match (five draws, four defeats), which means that Cadiz are last in the home table going into their first competitive match of 2022.
However, there is no reason to panic yet, because the eight draws have already brought them 14 points. This means that the gap to the first non-relegation place is only one point.
Winless for five league games in a row
Cádiz proved just last matchday that the Pirates are capable of surprisingly winning points when they fought out a goalless draw away at leaders Real Madrid.
However, the yellow-blue team has not won in five league games (two draws, three defeats). Accordingly, the penultimate team in the league only has the role of outsider.

Sevilla – Statistics & current form
Only in 1946 Sevilla FC could win the first and only Spanish championship. Accordingly, the Andalusian showpiece club, which advanced to become a record Europa League winner in the 21st century, is currently hoping that it will finally be able to compete at the top again.
Under successful coach Julen Lopetegui, they are currently “only” eight points behind leaders Real Madrid, who, however, have played one game more. The gap could therefore be reduced to five points, which would certainly still be catchable with a complete second half of the season.
The best defence in La Liga
After all, the Rojiblancos haven’t let up too much yet.
Only two defeats in league action have been recorded by the defensive artists from Sevilla, who have by far the best defence in La Liga with only 13 goals conceded from their 18 league games so far.
With this in mind, it is also a good alternative to bet on less than 2.5 goals against Sevilla. After all, the Nervionenses have mostly won by a minimalist 1-0 margin of late, scoring more than one goal in only one of their last ten away games.
The last five duels with Cadiz all won
The Andalusians were particularly strong in December, when they defeated three top teams – Europa League winners Villarreal (1-0), Athletic Bilbao (1-0) and national champions Atlético Madrid (2-1).
Accordingly, the Andalusian duel in Cádiz should also be a success in the new year. The balance is clearly in favour of the Rojiblancos, who have won all five of their last competitive matches against the Pirates, scoring 14 goals to 2.

Cadiz – Sevilla Direct comparison / H2H-balance
Head to head: 5 – 11 – 20
The Andalusian clash between the two teams has taken place a total of 36 times so far and Sevilla clearly lead the direct comparison with 20 victories. Most recently, five meetings in a row have all gone to the Nervionenses, who have not lost in Cadiz in league action since May 1991, with a total of 14-2 goals.
Cadiz – Sevilla Tip
In the case of Cadiz against Sevilla, the prediction clearly goes in the direction of the visitors, for whom practically all relevant performance data speak. It is true that the Rojiblancos have scored more than one goal in only one of their last ten away games.
But because the defence is so good and has conceded only 13 goals in 18 games, a single goal should be enough to win the game. In addition, with the recovered Youssef En-Nesyri, a new option for the attack has been added, which should provide an additional scoring threat
With the Pirates having just held Real Madrid to a 0-0 draw, it is fair to assume that the Nervionenses will be in for a game of patience. Ultimately, however, Lopetegui’s side will have enough momentum to score the golden goal in the end.
Accordingly, we recommend tip 2, for which betting odds of 1.90 are available on Cadiz against Sevilla.
