Will the Foxes prevail at the promoted side?
Leicester City have managed to end their ongoing run of form in their last two competitive games. For the first time since August 2021, the Foxes landed two wins in a row. After the impressive home victory over Manchester United in the current Premier League, Leicester also got maximum points in the European Cup.
In Moscow, the Foxes won 4-3 away from home after an exchange of blows with the Spartak attack and thus still retained their chance of a ticket to the knockout phase of the Europa League. For now, the focus is back on league competition as the Foxes look to make it two wins in a row in the Premier League for the first time since April 2021 at promoted Brentford.
Leicester City the slight underdogs at the surprise team from West London. Surprising all the same, as the Foxes haven’t lost a competitive game against Brentford FC since as far back as March 1953.
The last time the two clubs met in the 2020/21 FA Cup, the Foxes from Leicester prevailed 3-1 at the Brentford Community Stadium. Although the Bees have made a strong start to the season so far, we by no means rule out another win for the visitors. With Brentford vs Leicester, the high odds on an away win do have value.
Brentford – Statistics & current form
In contrast to the second division champions from Norwich, who are in last place after eight matchdays, play-off winners Brentford FC have made a hell of a start to the season so far and are meanwhile mid-table in the Premier League. The Bees have already defied the Premier League’s elite and are therefore confident going into the rest of the first half of the season.
Most recently, Brentford FC only narrowly missed out on a point against Chelsea. Against the leaders from London, the Bees only suffered a narrow 0:1 defeat. For long stretches it was not only a match of equals, the home side from West London even had realistic chances to take at least a point.
Before the defeat against Chelsea, Brentford remained unbeaten three times in a row. The Bees even picked up a point against Liverpool FC, second in the Premier League. The performance of the attack was particularly praiseworthy, after all, Brentford FC are the only team in the English top flight to have scored more than two goals against LFC so far.
Does the defensive bulwark hold against the Foxes?
The Bees’ showpiece, however, remains their defensive bulwark. Just how strong Brentford FC’s defensive line is has already been felt recently by Chelsea. The Premier League leaders scored only one goal in the London derby. In total, the promoted team has conceded only seven goals in eight matchdays this season.
Only five other teams in the English top flight have conceded fewer goals. Still, it’s bold to make a prediction on the west Londoners when it comes to Brentford vs Leicester. In four attempts, there has only been one win at home in the Premier League. The next setback cannot be ruled out against the resurgent Foxes.
Head coach Thomas Frank will have to do without five players against the visitors from Leicester due to injury. There are no other absentees for the Bees. If the promoted side celebrate their second home win in the Premier League on Sunday, odds of 2.65 are being paid out for a tip on the home side at Brentford vs Leicester.

Leicester – Statistics & current form
Until now, Leicester City have made a false start in the Premier League and – compared to last season – have lagged behind expectations. After all, there have already been three defeats for the Foxes in the first eight matchdays. With half of the first half of the season and an entire second half still to play, there is still room for Leicester to make a comeback.
Across competitions, there have been two wins in a row for the Foxes recently. After the surprising home win against Manchester United (4:2) on matchday seven of the Premier League, Leicester City also prevailed in the Europa League at Spartak Moscow during the week.
Against the Russian representatives, Leicester were even trailing 1:2 before the change of ends. Patson Daka, who scored the equaliser in the first half, made the comeback with a one-man show. In total, the newcomer from RB Leipzig scored four goals against Spartak and was undoubtedly “Man of the Match” in the 4:3 away win.
Next Leicester attacking feast?
So the Foxes have scored a total of eight goals in their last two competitive matches. If head coach Brendan Rodgers’ side take their recent momentum with them, it also stands to reason that Sunday’s opponents from west London will be steamrolled. Rodgers will only have to do without four players against the Bees due to injury.
Four other players, on the other hand, are set to make a comeback. Among them is Youri Tielemans, who was substituted during the week due to injury. Leicester have not lost any of their last seven competitive games against the promoted side from London. The last time Leicester lost was in March 1953 and since then the Foxes have won six and drawn one against the Bees.
The recent record against the promoted side in the English top flight is also encouraging. They have won four in a row against clubs promoted from the Championship to the Premier League last season. It is quite possible that the next success will be in West London for the resurgent Foxes.
Predicted Leicester line-up:
Schmeichel – Vestergaard, Evans, Söyüncü – Pereira, Tielemans, Soumare, Bertrand – Maddison – Daka, Vardy

Brentford – Leicester Direct comparison / H2H record
Leicester City have won five away matches in a row against Brentford FC. This includes the last meeting in the 2021 FA Cup, where the Foxes scored three goals despite trailing at half-time to reach the last 16. Across competitions, Leicester’s record against Brentford is 13-10-6 in 29 games.
Brentford – Leicester Tip
Leicester City have got back on track in their last two competitive games, winning two in a row for the first time since August 2021. The Foxes now want to underpin that winning streak at the promoted side from West London. Leicester’s opponents on Sunday are tenth in the table after eight matchdays and have only lost to Brighton and Chelsea so far.
The latter came just under a week ago. Although Brentford FC were by no means inferior to their city rivals, they failed to find an equaliser after going behind early on. Before that, Brentford had already scored against Liverpool at their own stadium.
However, in contrast to the bookmakers, we do not see the home side from West London as favourites by any means. Leicester, after all, not only have the stronger squad but are brimming with confidence from their recent away record against Brentford. In the last five away games against the Bees, there have been five victories for the Foxes.
The last time was in January 2021, when Leicester beat Brentford FC 3-1 in the FA Cup. With a stake of five units, we place our bet on Brentford vs. Leicester at good odds on the visitors.
