Is the away misery of the cloverleaf continuing in 2022?
SpVgg Greuther Fürth have played nine away games so far in the 2021/22 season, and the promoted side have not won a single one of them. Worse still, with 6:34 goals, the Central Franconians have not even picked up a single point away from home. The air in the bottom of the table will be correspondingly tight if the Leitl team has to end the negative streak at the current penultimate place.
Meanwhile, things were anything but rosy for Arminia. Just in time for the end of the year, however, the East Westphalians were able to bounce back with two victories. All in all, they have three games in a row without a defeat on their record, which is why the odds in the run-up to the match between Bielefeld and Fürth are also swinging in the direction of the home side.
Although the home record of the Arminen is anything but impressive. The East Westphalians have only won one of their nine home games so far in the 2021/22 season (five draws, three defeats). Nevertheless, a bet on a three-goal win for the hosts in Bielefeld vs. Fürth is very promising in view of the sometimes dismal performances of the cloverleaf.
Bielefeld – statistics & current form
A year ago, Arminia Bielefeld were also deep in the relegation battle, but then managed to stay in the league after a change of coach in the end. On 2 March 2021, Frank Kramer took over the reins and is still in charge.
The 49-year-old was able to noticeably increase his job security shortly before the winter break. The East Westphalians said goodbye to the year 2021 with two wins in a row, which they were able to build on in the first competitive match of the new year.
Seven points out of a possible nine from the last three league games
Although Arminia could not get beyond a 2-2 draw at SC Freiburg, they remained unbeaten for the third league match in a row against a strong opponent. This means that the East Westphalians have picked up as many points in the last three league games as they did in the twelve games before – seven in all.
All in all, the men from North Rhine-Westphalia still occupy a direct relegation spot. However, they are only one point away from a safe shore. All the more important, therefore, would be a victory in the basement duel against the current bottom team.
Unbeaten for four games against Fürth
At least the home record does not exactly speak for the Kramer eleven. Bielefeld have only won one of their nine league home games at the SchücoArena so far. However, because the team that has lost all nine of its away games so far is coming to the Alm, Bielefeld’s betting on home win number two against Fürth is nevertheless under a good star.
After all, the East Westphalians have a good record against the cloverleaf, against whom they have not lost any of their last four matches (one win, three draws). With a view to the fact that the knot has also been broken offensively recently – Bielefeld have always scored twice in the last three league games – the penultimate-placed team can therefore go into the home game with confidence.

Fürth – Statistics & current form
SpVgg Greuther Fürth were surprisingly promoted to the Beletage of German football last summer as runners-up of the 2. Bundesliga. However, because the three-time German champions (1914, 1926 and 1929) gave up a few key players from the promotion team and did not strengthen their team significantly, many experts predicted an extremely difficult season for the cloverleaf.
So far, the critical voices have been proved right. Only one of the 18 league games was won by the promoted team (three draws, 14 defeats), which clearly leaves them in the red lantern.
Negative values in practically all relevant areas
Negative values in practically all relevant areas are on record for the Central Franconians. No team won less often (1x), no team lost more often (14x), no team scored fewer goals (13) and no team conceded more goals (49).
In particular, the away record is so frightening that it corresponds to a historic negative value. Never before in the history of the Bundesliga has a team lost all of its first nine away games in league play with 6:34 goals.
Lost only one of their last four league games
Never the less, Stefan Leitl’s men gave several signs of life. Most recently, Spielvereinigung have lost only one of their last four league games and even remained without conceding any more goals in three of those four matches. After the two goalless draws against Augsburg and Stuttgart, the Central Franconians could now play 0-0 for the third time in a row.
However, if they are to somehow take up the fight to stay in the relegation zone, they will need more than just a point in the clash with the current 17th-placed team. At least the betting companies don’t trust the cloverleaf to get a three-point win.

Bielefeld – Fürth Direct comparison / H2H balance
Head to head: 10 – 8 – 7
The two teams have faced each other a total of 25 times so far and Arminia lead the direct comparison with ten victories. Most recently, the East Westphalians remained unbeaten against Fürth four times in a row (one win, three draws). The first leg in Franconia ended 1-1.
Bielefeld – Fürth tip
For Bielefeld against Fürth, the prediction must first and foremost take into account the Spielvereinigung’s desolate away record, having lost all nine games away from home at 6:34 goals. While Arminia are anything but strong at home, they go into this basement duel in good form and with renewed hope, having taken seven points out of a possible nine from their last three league games.
There is much to suggest that the East Westphalians can pull their heads out of the noose a little bit and do their homework with a home win, which could ultimately also help them jump into a non-relegation spot.
