Fight for the connection
In the south of Sevilla it comes to the duel in the midfield. However, the protagonists were only partially predictable. In Betis Sevilla v Las Palmas, however, the betting odds show confidence in the familiar outcome
This duel surprises with its closeness. With a market value of over 200 million euros, the hosts have one of the most expensive squads outside of the classic strongholds. The visitors, as promoted players, are clearly below that with their rough 50. This is also clearly reflected in the odds for Betis Sevilla and Las Palmas
However, looking at their recent performances, the visitors have a slight advantage. They have picked up nine and ten points respectively from their last five games. The success against Atletico (2:1) in particular has boosted the visitors. However, the bookmakers are predicting that Betis Sevilla will be the spoilsport against Las Palmas
Betis Sevilla – Statistics & current form
The Benito Villamarín is one of the most exciting addresses in the Primera. Long because of the fans, but now also because of the football
The project
Betis seems like a project in many respects. For a long time, the Verdiblancos languished in the shadows alongside the great FC and its successes in Europe. At least in the media, because in terms of fans, the Béticos have been the numero uno in the south for years.
Especially since the signing of Manuel Pellegrini in the summer of 2020, things have been on a constant upward trend in the green half of Seville. In 2020, they finished in 15th place. With him, they finished sixth, fifth and sixth.
They also won the Copa del Rey in 2022 – the club’s first title since 2005. This also involved trips across Europe. The result is increased media presence and therefore a more attractive position on the transfer market
Optics and impact
What sets Betis apart under Pellegrini is their proactive style of play. Unlike teams of the past, the current incarnation is beautiful to behold. Early pressing, quick switching and therefore more scoring chances.
However, it is not the appearance that is problematic, but the result. The 17:16 goals are rather unworthy of a top team. Even their city rivals and Granada, who are relegated, have scored more often.
The Whites have still not overcome the long-term absence of Nabil Fekir. Although he has already played one game, he is not yet match sharp.
Isco, who moved to the club from Real, has had some nice moments, but two goals are not yet earth-shattering. The fact that he is now classified as questionable shortly before the weekend doesn’t help either. Borja Iglesias in particular has been a big disappointment so far. Only when he too regains his form will the attack be heard again.
Predicted line-up of Betis Sevilla:
Las Palmas – Statistics & current form
After relegation in 2018, the team took a break for a few years. But now the islanders are taking the league by storm
Nearly, but (often) nevertheless
This is not a demonstration of power. Rather, the squad is highly efficient. In their 13 league appearances to date, only the 2-0 defeat at the Bernabeu was by more than one goal.
All other defeats (Rayo, Sevilla, Girona and Valencia) have been very narrow 1-0. With the exception of the 1-0 win against Granada, all the victories so far have been 2-1 (Celta, Villareal, Atletico, Almeria).
The three draws were either 0-0 (Real Sociedad) or 1-1 (Mallorca, Osasuna). So it’s neither spectacular nor high-scoring. So an under bet is more likely. Overall, however, many bookmakers are predicting a narrow victory for the hosts in Betis Sevilla v Las Palmas and the corresponding sources
One mistake too many
The reason for this may be the goal difference. With 11:12 goals after 13 rounds, there is not much entertainment on offer for the blue and yellows. A negative ratio is not uncommon for a promoted team, but it also shows what could still be possible.
Due to the extremely close results, there is little room for error. But when they do happen, it’s one too many. In some cases, such as the 2:1 against Atletico, fewer expected goals (0.44 to 1.20) and fewer shots (9:13 / 3:5 on goal) are enough to secure victory.
In the 1:1 draw against Osasuna in the last match before the international break, however, they got their revenge. The one shot on goal was on target, but at some point the men from Pamplona found their way through the defensive jungle. So nothing can go wrong against Betis!
Predicted Las Palmas line-up:
Betis Sevilla – Las Palmas head-to-head comparison / H2H result
The duels between the two are recurring, but not permanent. The reason for this is, logically, the promotion and relegation of the visitors. The last ten duels have spanned nine years and several competitions.
Overall, the Greens have the edge with six wins to the Blue & Yellows’ three. According to most observers, this is unlikely to change. For many, Betis Sevilla against Las Palmas is the clear favorite in the betting tips
Betis Sevilla – Las Palmas betting tip
On paper, the starting position is clear. But that has rarely interested the islanders so far. They are riding a wave of euphoria. However, the Verdiblancos are always good for a win, especially in home games. As a result, Betis Sevilla are the favorites against Las Palmas in many predictions
For us, Betis Sevilla vs Las Palmas is also a tip 1. The quality of the squad and the playing style speak in favor of the hosts.
