Tough trip for Eintracht
The Europa League is the competition of the Spanish. Since this European cup is no longer called UEFA Cup, there have been twelve editions. Eight times, the teams from La Liga triumphed in the end. That is why Betis Sevilla must be taken very, very seriously this season. The Andalusians welcome Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday for the first leg of the Europa League round of 16.
The big goal for the Spaniards is the final. Although this will take place in the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan, it will at least be played in Seville. You can imagine what will happen in the Andalusian metropolis if Betis are involved. But there is still a long way to go until then and Frankfurt is already a hurdle that will not be easy to jump over.
This match, by the way, will already take place on Wednesday because Sevilla FC is also still playing in the Europa League and regularly plays its home match on Thursday. Perhaps the Hessians will be able to take advantage of the Spanish team’s recent weaknesses this evening. We can certainly imagine playing a double chance X2 in the clash between Betis Sevilla and Frankfurt.
Betis Sevilla – Statistics & current form
Betis Sevilla certainly don’t have the biggest name of any Spanish club, but starting coach Manuel Pellegrini’s side are exceptionally well-stocked. The squad is peppered with top-class names and is also playing a very strong season again this year. In La Liga, the Andalusians are even on course for the Champions League with a fifth place finish.
Small dip in form for Betis
Adding to this is the fact that they recently played their way into the final of the Copa del Rey. The championship in Spain is hardly possible, but if you like, Betis are still dancing on three high tides. Recently, however, there has been a slight dip in form. Manuel Pellegrini’s team has not won any of its last four games. Therefore, in the duel between Betis Sevilla and Frankfurt, you don’t necessarily have to play the odds on a home win.
Even in their own stadium, the Andalusians have been waiting for a win for three games now. Last weekend, they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the Benito Villamarin against Atletico Madrid. Cristian Tello equalised the early deficit at the break, but Atletico pulled away in the second half and Betis have slipped from third to fifth place in La Liga.
In terms of personnel, Betis are looking extremely good. With the exception of Martin Montoya, all players should be ready for action. There will possibly be rotations compared to the weekend. With fresh personnel, they want to put Eintracht under pressure. In goal, there will probably be the obligatory change from Claudio Bravo to Rui Silva.
Predicted line-up of Betis Sevilla:
Rui Silva – Bellerin, Pezzella, Edgar, Sabaly – Rodriguez, Guardado – Joaquin, Fekir, Aitor Ruibal – Willian Jose – Coach: Pellegrini

Frankfurt – Statistics & current form
Will it be another one of those festive days that Eintracht Frankfurt have had so many of on international terrain in recent years? Whenever the floodlights come on and the opponent is from another country, a switch seems to flip in the Hessians. That’s when they show their true capabilities and that’s exactly what will be absolutely necessary in Seville on Wednesday.
Negative trend stopped?
In the Bundesliga things haven’t been going so well lately. Frankfurt have dropped to tenth place and will have to stretch themselves if they want to qualify for the European Cup again. However, after three defeats in a row, they did manage a win at the weekend, so Oliver Glasner’s team can travel to Spain with increased self-confidence.
A clear 4:1 victory at Hertha. However, you also have to see what shape the Berliners are in at the moment. Hertha are the worst team of the second half of the season and so the success after goals from Ansgar Knauff, Tuta, Jesper Lindström and Rafael Borre was no more than a compulsory task. It will be difficult to make a prediction for the clash between Betis Sevilla and Frankfurt.
After the victory in the capital, Oliver Glasner has no reason to make any changes to his starting eleven. Sebastian Rode, however, is certainly a candidate for the starting line-up. All in all, things look very tidy in terms of personnel. Ragnar Ache and Diant Ramaj are the only injured players. Goncalo Paciencia will have to serve a yellow suspension.
Predicted Frankfurt line-up:
Trapp – Tuta, Hinteregger, Ndicka – Knauff, Sow, Rode, Kostic – Lindström, Kamada – Borre – Coach: Glasner
Last matches played by Frankfurt:

03/05 2022 – Hertha Berlin 1 – 4 Eintracht Frankfurt

02/19 2022 – 1. FC Köln 1 – 0 Eintracht Frankfurt
02/12 2022 – Eintracht Frankfurt 0 – 2 Vfl Wolfsburg

Betis Sevilla – Frankfurt Direct Comparison / H2H Balance
The paths of Betis Sevilla and Eintracht Frankfurt have not crossed in a competitive match to date. Only in a test match have the two teams faced each other. In 2017, Eintracht won 3:0. However, little, if anything, can be derived from that match for today. The squads and coaches of both teams have changed too much since then.
Betis Sevilla – Frankfurt Tip
We are pretty sure that this match between Betis Sevilla and Eintracht Frankfurt will not be decided in this first leg. We can imagine that both teams will meet on equal terms in the first and second leg. The Spaniards have had their problems recently and have been waiting for a win for four games.
Things don’t look much better for the Hessians. At least they were able to turn the tables last weekend when they were able to celebrate a victory after three defeats.
Internationally, Frankfurt always shows its best side. 3,000 Eintracht fans are expected in Seville. They will certainly make their presence felt loudly and perhaps this will help to bring home a good result from Andalusia. We have therefore decided to play the betting odds on double chance X2 between Betis Sevilla and Frankfurt.
