Kane continues to score at will?
After four wins, FC Bayern Munich are already group winners in Group A of the UEFA Champions League. Behind them, however, FC Copenhagen in second place and Manchester United in fourth place are separated by just a single point. The question of who will accompany the Reds into the round of 16 is therefore still completely open. However, if Bayern’s bet on a home win for the German record champions against FC Copenhagen pans out, the visitors’ starting position would deteriorate somewhat
It can therefore be assumed that the Danish Lions, who led 1-0 in the first leg against Munich and beat heavyweights Manchester United 4-3 on the final matchday, will throw everything into the Allianz Arena. However, just because the Reds have nothing to play for does not mean that a prediction on Bayern v FC Copenhagen would be interesting
In fact, FC Bayern Munich will be keen to demonstrate their international strength at home once again in order to send out clear signals to potential opponents in the round of 16. After all, the visitors have not been able to take too much from the Allianz Arena recently. The Reds have won 18 of their last 21 Champions League home games (two draws, one defeat) and have scored in all of their last 26 Champions League home games.
Some rotation is not out of the question. Ultimately, however, Thomas Tuchel will be keen to keep his team in rhythm, which is why we expect the outstanding Harry Kane to be in the starting eleven. There is a lot of value in the bet that the Englishman, who failed to score in the first leg against Copenhagen, will score again in this second leg. We therefore recommend betting on at least one Kane goal
Bayern – Statistics & current form
FC Bayern Munich have not been successful in the DFB Cup for some time now, with Thomas Tuchel’s side recently losing in the second round to third-division side Saarbrücken. In the championship, on the other hand, the Reds were able to celebrate winning the title again after a somewhat shaky season.
Now they are set to reach for the stars once again in the UEFA Champions League, which the German record champions won for the sixth time in the club’s history in the summer of 2020
18 of the last 21 Champions League home matches won
The Munich side conceded a whopping six goals in their first four group games. Nevertheless, nothing has gone wrong. FC Bayern won all four group games and, with a maximum haul of twelve points and an eight-point lead over second place, have already secured their place in the group ahead of time.
There is therefore not much left to play for in the two remaining matchdays. Nevertheless, the footballers from the Isar are keen to prove their home strength once again. The German record champions have lost just one of their last 21 Champions League home games (18 wins, two draws)
32 out of a possible 36 points in the Bundesliga
The Tuchel squad also had a successful dress rehearsal on Friday against 1. FC Köln (1:0), which allowed the Reds to regain the lead in the Bundesliga table, at least overnight. Despite an impressive haul of 32 points out of a possible 36, the German record champions are still only in second place due to Bayer Leverkusen’s high-flying performance.
Predicted Bayern line-up:
FC Copenhagen – Statistics & current form
FCopenhagen may be a comparatively young club, having been founded in 1992, but this summer they won the Danish national championship for the 15th time in the club’s history. As the Lions also won the cup, Jacob Neestrup’s team even celebrated their first double in six years.
This is the sixth time that FCK have qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, which they have only managed to survive once before in the 2010/11 season. This year, however, the chances are better than they have been for a long time
None of the 13 competitive matches against a German club won so far
Two matchdays before the end of the group stage, the Danes are in second place. Neestrup’s side picked up four points out of a possible twelve, and caused a major surprise on matchday 4 when they defeated English record champions Manchester United 4-3.
However, if FCK do not want to have to rely on help on the final matchday, they should now bet on an away win at the Allianz Arena when Bayern play FC Copenhagen. The problem is that this will be the 15-time Danish champions’ 14th competitive match against a Bundesliga side. The Lions have not won a single one of their first 13 matches (four draws, nine defeats)
Only one point from the last two league games
Nevertheless, it should be noted that Jacob Neestrup’s side sold themselves extremely well in the first leg, when they even managed to score the opening goal in the second half after a goalless draw against the German record champions.
However, the Lions are not traveling to the Bavarian capital with the broadest of chests. FCK messed up their dress rehearsal at the weekend and lost 2-1 away to seventh-placed Viborg FF in the Danish Superliga, reducing their lead in the championship to two points over city rivals Brøndby IF, against whom they only drew 0-0 at home before the international break.
Predicted FC Copenhagen line-up:
Bayern – FC Copenhagen Direct comparison / H2H result
Head to head: 1 – 0 – 0
The first leg on October 3, 2023 was the first and only meeting between the two teams to date. The 2-1 away win after trailing 1-0 meant Bayern lead the head-to-head against the Danes. It was FC Copenhagen’s 13th competitive match against a German club without a win (four draws, nine defeats)
Bayern – FC Copenhagen betting tip
The betting odds for Bayern v FC Copenhagen are clearly in favor of Munich, who have won all four of their previous international home games against Danish clubs. The German record champions bring a brutally strong home record into this match and should have little interest in playing this game half-heartedly and running the risk of falling out of rhythm after winning four competitive games in a row.
Munich have also scored in all of their last 26 Champions League home games. The prognosis for Bayern against FC Copenhagen is that Harry Kane will once again provide the goals. Although the Englishman did not score in the first leg against the Danes, he has already been involved in six Bayern goals (four goals, two assists) in four group games in the top flight.
We therefore recommend betting on the unerring 30-year-old scoring his fifth Champions League goal for the Reds. Bet365 is offering odds of 1.53 for this, which we play at six out of ten units.
