Is Sevilla’s unbeaten streak coming to an end?
Barcelona v Sevilla is a Sunday night clash in La Liga. The home side are in third place and the visitors from Andalusia are just ahead.
With a win, however, the Catalans could move past the Hispalenses, as they would be level on points with their upcoming opponents and would win the direct comparison after a draw in the first leg.
Lately, the FCB also turned up the heat once: In the “Clásico” against the league leaders Real Madrid, a clear 4:0 victory was recorded. At the same time, it was already the fifth win in a row in league play.
For the upcoming match at Camp Nou between Barcelona and Sevilla, the prediction now includes a goal by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the part of the country’s 26-time champions.
Barcelona – Statistics & current form
FCB hired club icon Xavi as their new manager last November and the move is increasingly proving to be the right decision.
Under him, Barcelona have a win rate of just under 58 per cent and, as described, this has continued to rise in recent weeks as a result of back-to-back triumphs. In the meantime, Xavi has recorded 15 victories in 26 competitive matches in his role as manager of the Catalans (15-7-4).
Furthermore, the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can be seen as another positive piece of the puzzle in the recent success of the 31-time Copa del Rey winners.
The Gabonese came on loan from the Gunners, where he had increasingly become an enfant terrible, so the Londoners were happy to end the high-paying contract. At Barcelona, Aubameyang gave up part of his previous salary.
Aubameyang came up particularly trumps recently
But the Gabonese is now very strong again on the Mediterranean and in the recent “Clásico” he made history: Never before since the turn of the millennium had a player managed to score three goals in his first “Clásico”.
Specifically, the former BVB player scored two goals and set up another goal for the third-placed team of the previous season. Furthermore, it was his third consecutive competitive game at Barça with at least one personal goal.
Will the home side strike at least twice?
The home side’s attack is generally going well, as can be seen from their impressive tally of 18 goals in the last five rounds of matches – clearly the highest figure in a league-wide comparison.
In light of this, predictions of more than one goal by the hosts in the clash between Barcelona and Sevilla are also worth a recommendation.

Sevilla – Statistics & current form
Last year’s fourth-placed team continues to rank second, but the dream of a second championship since 1946 has clearly lost steam among the Sevillistas of late.
Thanks to four draws in the last five rounds of matches, the leaders from Madrid have now extended their lead to nine points.
In addition, as described, Barcelona is increasingly breathing down the Nervionenses’ necks. The reason for the recent lack of success is the weak offensive performance of coach Julen Lopetegui’s team. They have scored no more than four goals in their last five league games.
Sevilla arrive with personnel worries
The strained personnel situation is having a negative impact here. Rafa Mir, the top scorer of the four-time Spanish runners-up, has been absent due to injury, and Papu Gomez, a powerful attacking player who is third in the internal ranking of top scorers, has been missing for weeks.
On top of that, Youssef En-Nesyri is out of form. The Moroccan scored 18 goals for the Blanquirrojos last season, but his form has deteriorated considerably this season.
The 24-year-old was also injured for a while and played for his home country at the Africa Cup earlier this year. It is obvious that he has been in a slump of form since his return, as the former Sevilla top-goal scorer has yet to score a single goal this year.
Defeat by a two-goal margin for the visitors?
In view of the described offensive weakness of the guests, the odds on a home victory with at least two goals difference are equally attractive in the duel between Barcelona and Sevilla.
Predicted line-up of Sevilla:
Dmitrovic – Gudelj – Navas – Kounde – Augustinsson – Torres – Delaney – Corona – El Haddadi – Ocampos – Martial

Barcelona – Sevilla Tip
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made seven appearances for Barcelona so far following his recent move from London, and his tally of just as many goals indicates that he has instantly acclimatised to the Blaugrana.
For the clash between Barcelona and Sevilla, betting on another goal from the Gabon international is a good idea.
In addition to his current goal-scoring form, Aubameyang was off during the international break and, unlike fellow attackers such as Dutchman Memphis Depay, did not have to make any appearances with his national team.
In addition, the visitors have been weaker than before. Although the Rojiblancos have not lost a league match since the end of November last year and a defeat against Real Madrid, the flood of draws in recent weeks is simply too little for the title race.
