Will the Catalans also sweep Eintracht off the pitch?
The women of FC Barcelona have dominated the Champions League at will so far and have already punched their ticket for the knockout phase. After four group games, FCB Femení have four wins to their name. In these four matches, the Catalans have scored 21 goals and conceded just one.
That goal was conceded in the first half of the season against the Eagles from Frankfurt. Eintracht lost their home game against FCB 3-1, so a defeat is also on the cards this time, but the only question is how badly the Hessians will lose this time. Our FC Barcelona vs. Frankfurt women’s betting tip is for a heavy defeat for the Bundesliga team
It’s a do or die game for the Frankfurt women. If Eintracht lose the match in Barcelona, they could be knocked out of the Women’s Champions League. That scenario is certainly an obvious one, as FCB Femení currently appear to be invincible
The Catalans have won every competitive match this season and are therefore brimming with confidence. In recent weeks in particular, FCB have dominated Femení at will and flexed their attacking muscles. It therefore makes sense to predict a high-scoring encounter between FC Barcelona and Frankfurt Women’s.
Barcelona – statistics & current form
Barca Femení are on course for the CL title. The Catalans are currently the strongest women’s football team in Europe and the hottest contenders for the Women’s Champions League title. Barca Femení dominated the group stage at will and gave their opponents no chance.
They won four of their four group games. The Catalans scored 21 goals in the process, making them the best attack in the current Champions League. Paralluelo was the top scorer. The 20-year-old has already scored five goals in the current competition, putting her on a par with Kerr of Chelsea FC.
Although rotation on the FCB Femení side cannot be ruled out, the Catalan leaders still have the chance to deliver a scoring feast with a mixture of regular and reserve players. As in the four previous group games, it is obvious that the four-goal mark will be broken again
The FCB Femení offense is second to none
Last weekend, FC Barcelona Femení warmed up with a resounding victory against Levante. The Catalans even scored seven goals in the Super Cup final in Leganes to establish a clear balance of power. Even before the break, FCB Femení led 5:0 against the women of UD Levante.
It was the fourth match in the last five competitive games in which six or more goals were scored. Betting on the Catalan side’s next scoring feast is therefore also good value – possibly even before the change of ends against Eintracht.
This will be FCB Femení’s 14th match against a team from the German women’s Bundesliga. In the 13 previous encounters, FC Barcelona Femení have a record of 8-0-5, with four of those five defeats coming against VfL Wolfsburg.
Predicted Barcelona line-up:
Panos – Bronze, Engen, Leon, Batlle – Bonmati, Walsh, Guijarro – Graham, Caldentey, Paralluelo
Frankfurt – Statistics & current form
Eintracht are grasping at the last straw. In Barcelona, the eagle bearers from Frankfurt have their last chance to reach the knockout phase of the Champions League. To do so, the team of head coach Niko Arnautis not only has to win the difficult match in Barcelona, but also hope for some help.
The Hessians can only dream of advancing to the next round if they beat FCB Femení and Benfica lose their parallel game against Rosengard. However, that scenario is unlikely, as Rosengard have so far only been a points supplier in the group and have lost every match.
It therefore remains to be seen what attitude the Hessians will take into the upcoming match. Especially as the chances of progressing are vanishingly small. It is possible that Eintracht will go down again, as they did in the first half of the season in front of a home crowd, and lose heavily to FCB Femení.
Will there be another goal to celebrate against FCB Femení?
In the current competition, the Eagles have so far been the only team to score against FCB Femení on the international stage. It is quite possible that Arnautis’ team will manage to break through the Catalan side’s defensive bulwark and score at least once.
With 22 goals in ten matchdays, Eintracht were the third-best attacking team in the Women’s Bundesliga. Only Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg scored more goals than Frankfurt during this period. There is therefore plenty of offensive power.
Laura Freigang has been the Hessians’ top scorer in all competitions to date. Freigang has scored five times in the Bundesliga. Internationally, on the other hand, the 25-year-old has already scored three times (1 goal, 2 assists).
Predicted line-up for Frankfurt:
Johannes – Hanshaw, Doorsoun, Kleinherne, Wolter – Dunst, Pawollek, Reuteler – Prasnikar, Freigang, Anyomi
Barcelona – Frankfurt Women Head-to-head comparison / H2H result
In the first half of the season, FCB Femení and Frankfurt met for the first time ever. The Catalans prevailed 3:1 away from home in the opening clash and thus lead the H2H against Eintracht
Barcelona – Frankfurt women’s betting tip
FC Barcelona Femení are currently unstoppable and have already punched their ticket to the knockout phase of the Champions League ahead of time. The Catalans have not only won each of their four group games so far, but have also dominated at will. They have already scored 21 goals in the four matches.
FCB Femení, on the other hand, have only conceded once. That goal came against Eintracht in the first half of the season. The Hessians even went into the break with a 1:0 half-time lead. It was only after the break that FCB Femení turned up the heat and completed the comeback
We’re not ruling out a goal for either team this time either. Hosts FCB Femení are under no pressure to win and can play freely. Frankfurt, on the other hand, will have to risk everything to score three points against their Catalan opponents. For our Barcelona vs. Frankfurt women’s betting tip on “Both score” we use three units
